Planning Dilemma-Extra Magic Hour

Okay, here's the dilemma, we are going June 17-23 and have 4 day PHP. We have 4 days planned in parks and one day at Typhoon Lagoon. All my PS have been made and the itinerary is set. Now with the news of the evening extra magic hours being tested in May, I'm all in a tizzy. ;) IF they continue this plan and schedule into the summer, the evening extra hour for MK is on a Wednesday. Our trip doesn't include a Wednesday at this point. :( While we enjoy all the parks, MK is our favorite and the idea of extra evening hours with with SO many of our favorite attractions open is very appealing. I'm a teacher so my plans can easily be modified by a day or two. So, should I adjust all my plans in hopes that this new EMH schedule continues or just keep everything the same and miss the MK evening? Going by what Deb's site says, this will not replace Erides and there is a possibility of that coming back for summer. If I keep my plans as they are, I can always hope for eride. However, there will be so many more attractions open for the evening EMH. Oh, my mind is just spinning............ These changes just send me into planning overdrive!!!!!!!! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Maybe I was too long winded in my first post. The basic question is do I change my trip to include the new plan for EMH or do I just leave it as is and skip the evening MK EMH?

We have the same dilemma now, lol. Our trip is May 29-June 12 and I would love to take advantage of the EMH at night but we already have our sch made and ps accordingly. Is it something you need to decide right now or can it wait a bit. If it has to be now then go ahead and work it into your sch and if you can wait I would read some reports of people that have been and also see what the e-night ride sch will, if any.

We're going early June and I now have 2 schedules for our trip. One if they use the "old" EMH schedule and one with the new. I'm holding duplicate PS for some restaurants and will call and cancel the unnecessary PS as soon as Disney decides what they're doing. This really threw me for a loop initially because we had planned to do EMH as we're early risers and have young children. Upon review, I really like our new schedule more than the old one. But we'll use whichever schedule fits their policy when we check in.

I can wait a little. We are taking a friend with us and we are traveling with a family who has never been to WDW. My only concern is working around them. I can be flexible, though. I think I'll make Plan A (the old EMH) and Plan B (the new one). Then, we'll just go with what works.

I'll be there in June also. Can someone post the tentative EMH schedule or tell me where to find it?? Thanks!

I think you're making a mistake to change your plans to mirror a change that is merely being tested. One of two things could very easily happen that would complicate matters:

1. They don't implement the changes in time for your trip.

2. The days end up being even different than those tested in May.

If you can change your trip dates without causing other problems, so be it. But nobody really knows what will happen after May 22.

I don't think anyone is changing their plans. I personally am just making alternate plans. I didn't cancel any of my original plans and won't until Disney decides what they're doing. I did make alternate plans "just in case" this works and is continued through the summer. I've planned my entire trip around EMH days and if they're going to change the schedule, I'm going to be ready to adjust.

I have actually decided to have two plans with duplicate PS in some areas. The first plan is the original with the old EMH schedule and the second plan is with the new EMH schedule. As the time draws near, I'll cancel the plans for whichever one I need to. I don't want to wait until after May 22 to begin a new plan, though. I prefer to have all my "ducks in a row" earlier than three weeks prior to our trip. Thanks for all the advice. Let's hope the new EMH stays for a while!
