Planning an Easter trip to Disney- Need help!!!

So I'm looking to take my wife and two little girls to Disney World this April 2018.

Just trying to budget it all out. Now i have seen people had great success with DVC rentals and got great deals.

What are the pros and cons for renting a DVC rental as opposed to the regular booking with Disney?

Since Easter/spring break is a popular time, I think it will be tough to get a DVC rental.

If you are able to rent points, you will most likely have to pay it all up front and it will be non-refundable (depending on how you rent the points.) Also, you will not receive daily housekeeping unless you pay extra for it.

If you book directly through Disney, you will get daily housekeeping, and you will be subject to the regular cancellation policies/payment terms. But it will be more expensive.

Not sure what you're getting at with your question.

A lot of your costs will depend on the number of people and their ages. A Value Resort will almost always be less expensive than renting DVC points if your family will fit in a regular hotel room. Easter falls in DVC's most expensive season. Meanwhile, it is also one of the priciest seasons on Disney's calendar. You're not likely to get any kind of discounts for those dates.

A week in one room at ASMu during Easter would cost $1460 (rack rate). A week in a DVC studio would be $2K, at minimum, if rented thru a broker. You would really need to do some comparison shopping for the accommodations you think you would book as a DVC rental vs. what you would pay by staying in a regular Disney hotel room.

I haven't rented DVC before but I tried last Easter with one of the popular DVC rental places. It seems you need to book quite a bit in advance to get a major holiday. It will be much cheaper to rent but it's non refundable.
