I am new to this forum but not Disney. I suppose I will attempt to sum up our story a bit.

Dh and I have been married for 17 years. We have recently had our relationship tested and we want to recommit to each other through a vow renewal. Our wedding was thrown together in 2 weeks. We were young, poor, I was pregnant and he was on leave from the Navy so we threw something together and made it official. We went through a lot of stress, mostly from his side of the family who did not approve of our relationship. We have often said that if we had it to do all over again that we would have just gone out of town and gotten married and not had any of the families involved. Well, it looks like we have our chance.

I have been reading through this forum and I am loving all the pictures and the TR's and PJ's. I so desperately wanted a Mickey and Minnie cake topper for our wedding all those years ago but we didn't have the internet back then and I couldn't find one locally.

Now, we have 4 children of our own and we have been to Disney many times. It is truly the happiest place on earth for us. I can't think of anywhere I would rather renew my vows than Disney.

So, in a nutshell, that's why I am here. Now onto my questions: I really wanted to go to Disney in the spring and be there during the Flower and Garden festival. I was thinking April would be lovely. The only problem is, I read on another site that the location we want, Sunrise Pointe at the Poly, can only be booked October through March. I could back it up to March and go then but I'm wondering if it's too late to try to do this in 2010? I have requested the dvd from Disney but it will be a couple of weeks before I get that and I am wondering if it will just be too much to put together? Or if it books up really far out? I'm just planning an Escape as it will likely be just the 6 of us, although my best friend may come too. Should I go ahead and call Disney or wait until I get the dvd from them?

I really didn't get to make any of the decisions for my wedding and so I am completely unsure as to how to go about any of this. But I do love to plan so this will be fun for me if I can just figure out how to get started!

Hi! :wave2:

First off, do not wait for the DVD to arrive - some people never get it! For an overview of what the Escape package includes (it's the same for weddings and vow renewals) you can start by looking at the official website. Some of the info there is out of date (mainly prices), but they should have a new website up any day now that will be a much better resource:

It is definitely not too late to book Sunset Pointe for March 2010. For one thing, the low guest limit there makes it a less popular venue, so it's probably still available for when you want. For another, the Escape package is very easy for Disney to pull together, so they don't need much lead time.

The packaged nature of an Escape event also means that you won't have many decisions to make, and they will give you a questionnaire to walk you through it all. :thumbsup2 Plus, you'll have a wedding coordinator to help you.

And of course the people on this board can help answer any questions that come up. :goodvibes

Happy planning!
