Planning a trip - June 2012 - few questions

I've lurked here for years and usually just use the WDW tips. But we just decided on a late June 2012 trip to DL. (we went in 2009 and had a blast) And I decided to join the group!

I'd love some advice as I'd love to start budgeting/planning. I'm such a planner.

- how many days would you stay? (our girls will be 6.5 and 2) In 2009, we were there three WET days and it was great. 2 days in DL, 1 day in CA. We'll be flying from midwest so maybe 4 park days + 1 down day in the middle? Too much? Do they do park hoppers? Can you add a park hopper to just one day?

- we want a hotel with a pool/water play area (from reading on here, Hojo seems nice) -- any other good options? I don't want to stay on-site. How early would you book the hotel? We'll start shopping for plane tickets this fall.

- are there any calendars showing special events out that far? Can you do ADR's 180 days out for DL too?

First of all, do not apologize for asking questions. That is what these boards are for!!

I would do 4 days in order to give your family time in the parks (yes, you can park hop each day if you want) and some pool time.

I reserve my hotel as soon as I know we are going. But that's just me . If I need to change, I just call. We stay at Anaheim Plaza. We are a family of 6 and our youngest is 7 so having a water play area is not high on our priority list . All lot of people on these boards love HoJo's.

Regarding calendar's...not usually that far out but you could "tenatively" plan using this June's parade, show time, and hours, stuff like that.

I believe the ADR's are 60 days in advance.
