Our next trip will finally include our whole family :) Previously we've left the littlest with grandma to make the most of our trip. Baby will be 3 soon, so we are starting plan our next trip. We've usually stayed across the street, and love it! Kind of really want to stay at the GCH just once. I know it will double or triple our costs, but just once might be fun. And dangerous, I'm sure. But rooms.....what's the best way to get us in there? Two rooms? Is there a suite for 7? I've read a little about DVC rentals, but still not sure how that would work. We like to go for 6 nights. 4 park days, with a break day in between. I realize we may have to cut that to 3 park days because of cost. We'll see. Thinking of splurging just once. Anyway, best room arrangement for 7? 2 adults, kids will be 12, 9/10 (depending on dates), 7, 5, and 3.

The rates for Dapper Day at the beginning of May look really tempting for all 3 resorts! I think the standard rooms were 204 at the DLH and just a little more at GCH. I am going to book my room at DLH in a few weeks, after i get back from our trip (4 days till we go!!) and I'm going through my "Post Disney Sadness Syndrome". You know- when you wonder why your real life is so NOT DISNEYLAND!

I did read somewhere that the GCH was about to go through a refurbishment, but it might not be for a while, and might not be a problem when it is going on.

If you can't get a great rate, maybe you could do a split stay and do a good neighbor hotel for half of the time.

I would try to stick with 4 days so you can take your time and not rush anyone, and so you feel like you actually have time to enjoy the GCH's pools and restaurants. Plus, once you get past three days, it hardly costs anything to keep adding till the max of 5 days.

For a longer stay and a large group, I would also suggest a grocery delivery from Von's. You can get water and other drinks, snacks, breakfast foods, sandwich supplies, even fresh fruit and frozen waffles. If you cut back on Disney meals and alternate in your own, that might help justify the cost of the extra park day!

Have fun planning!

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to call Disney to find out for sure, but I'm pretty certain that at the GCH, the most you can fit into a standard room is 5 people. So yes...at the GCH, you would need 2 adjoining rooms or pay for 1 of their suites. You'll likely run into the same situation at PPH and DLH.

I just looked on the DL website and for 5 nights starting Memorial Day, PPH has a 1-bedroom suite that sleeps 7 and it goes for $770/night.

At GCH, you would probably need a 2-BR suite because their 1-BR suite only sleeps up to 6. The 2-BR goes for $1456/night for that week at end of May/beginning of June. For 6 nights and including 17% tax, that's $10,221! yikes!

The DLH for those dates has a 2-BR suite going for $1016/night.

See, we've been eyeing another cruise, too. And for just a tad more we could do our cruise! LOL DH really wants to try to stay on site though.
