I've decided to plan a trip for April 18-22 and I'm worried! Whoops. That'll be a lie. :cool1:

It's my birthday week, princess: (yes, I celebrate for a week) and with all this hullabaloo, I'd thought I'd announce it to everyone. (That I'm going these dates, not that it's my birthday ;)) I have an annual pass and can go anytime, but I've decided to put it out there since I went last year during the same cheer leading weekend, and it was nothing close to the huge deal everyone (someone?) is making. DCA, usually empty is a smidgen more crowded, but nothing compared a day in summer. I look forward to reporting this back too.

As a matter of fact I think I'll have my entire family come- uncles, aunts, cousins, some friends I haven't talked to since high school. We don't mind cheerleaders, thank you.

Who's with me??? (...for going these dates. Again, not for my birthday, but you're welcome too!) :woohoo:

we'll be there the 19th-26th. nice to hear the non-dire prediction for the cheer weekend. it was aggravating to read over and over about how to stay away. seriously, this close to going, most people have already finalized their plans so the 'warnings' were a bit too late.

My friend and I are having a girl's weekend from the 18th through the 21st. We can't wait!!! :cheer2:

Don't worry about the cheerleader convention.

According to the Anaheim Convention center http://www.anaheimoc.org/conventioncalendar/index.asp (Choose Select a Date Range for April and CC), they are expecting 10,000 attendees at the cheerleader convention April 18-20.

During the slow period in early April (1-10), they are expecting 21,800 attendees.

It seems (someone) has an ulterior motive for their warnings.

Have a wonderful time!! I hope the crowds stay low for you guys!!

i should hopefully be in anaheim then too :)

See ya there! :)

Hey ActionVaughn!

Have a great time celebrating your birthday at Disneyland!:cake:

I think this thread got hi-jacked by attendance groupies!

Like some have said, trip is booked and paid for and cheerleaders galore or not, our family is going to enjoy the magic of disney .. as I think its' a personal choice to take with you.

I can't wait to get our family picture all wearing Mickey ears! pixiedust:

^ This troll up here stole my name (minus the 29). Maybe I'm the troll.

Guys! It's going to be extremely crowded on President's Week, MLK weekend, Spring Break, Memorial Day weekend, ALL of summer, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. So do NOT visit during that time. I repeat do NOT visit unless you want to be bombarded with a sea of people. Guys there's gonna be like 33 million people in California who MIGHT be going to DL, so I don't think I would go at all. Ever.

;)

Your advice about not going on three day weekends and national holidays is right on. Though simply living in California isn't the same as being right across the street from Disneyland...they will most likely visit the parks at some point during the trip.

No way. :scared1:

:rotfl: It seems I missed all the good posts, but don't forget about 2.5 million from Nevada and 6 million from Arizona. I checked the 2006 census, and it's 37 million for California. With that many million people in the parks, the Tiki Room might actually have a wait for once.

Maybe I'll make some t-shirts up: "I survived cheer weekend- thanks for the tip, trolls!"
