Hi everyone,

My parents have been working very hard and saved to take all the family out to Disneyworld in two weeks. We're so excited, but we're trying to find a way of surprising them out there with something. The whole trip is to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary which is later in the year, so something based on that would be great. I've contacted Disney by email twice about this and just got the same sales replies - book this, buy that, etc. But I was thinking more along the lines of requesting a room upgrade or having something in the room waiting for them when we arrive. We're checking into the All Stars Movie resort on 24th March until 4th April. Has anyone done anything similar or have any ideas?

Your help would be much appreciated x

If you are planning to eat at Coral Reef in Epcot, you can request a diver to hold up a sign, and also request a personalized menu. You email them pictures, a poem or whatever, and they print up special menus!

I have not done either, but many people here have, and I'm sure they can fill you in on the details.

I wanted to do the same thing for my parents!

Here's what I did: I called the resort we were staying at (happened to be the poly), and they suggested an aniversary cake.

That's what I did. There was a standard mickey cake but I opted for a bigger one. I think it was around 12$ but I can't remember exactly.

They had it waiting in my parents adjoining room and it was a wonderful surprise. A nice touch that doesn't break the bank and nice to have a snack as soon as you arrive. Because of the fridge in the room, we were able to piece on it for a few days.

Here's the info on ordering a cake: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1173219

How about personalized menus? I know the Coral Reef does it; I think some of the other restaurants do as well. You send them 4 or 5 pictures and they'll print the pictures on the menus. It would be a nice keepsake for mom and dad.

You can always order a special gift basket by memoriesbybetsy.com or Peggy's sweets and more (feralpeg here on the DIS), and have it delivered to the resort.

great info, my sister will be going on her honeymoon at the poly and the little cakes are a great idea

Or what about a couples massage at one of the MANY spas? Grand Floridian and Saratoga are two I can think of off the top of my head. Or make them special reservations at Victoria and Alberts. There are a million very romantic things to do at WDW to help celebrate their anniversary! Good luck!

I was thinking about that but my funds are limited bc they are getting married in a different state and bc we are all spread out we are hanging out for a full week before the wedding. It will be fun, but costly with hotel, food, drinks, and then of course the wedding.

You can also contact the Disney Floral Department and they can help with pretty much anything. They are good with sticking to a budget too. I sent my brother and sister-in-law champagne for their honeymoon. They got cheese and crackers with it and Mickey champagne flutes. They loved it!

I ordered photo buttons from this site for my parents 50th anniversary trip, we all wore them and got lots of compliments- My parents were treated like royalty everywhere they went- they were given free desserts, free wine, and even wine glasses at the castle dinner-
shelly was wonderful to deal with, very quick service so you may have time
Our buttons are listed on the birthday page-celebrating 50 magical years-i used a copy of their wedding picture.

we stayed at the all star movies and they had balloons in their room along with an autographed picture of Mickey & Minnie- talk to whomever the trip is booked through- and they should be able to do something without you spending any more money- if you pm me I can tell you more

we also stayed at the movies resort, they had balloons and an autographed pic of mickey & minnie in their room when they arrived, check with who the trip was booked through

my husband is having his birthday while we are at disney, and I've reserved a pontoon boat to take us out the lagoon to see the fireworks at night! got that great tip from this board!!

Are you doing photopass? If so you can book a private family photo shoot at the Grand Floridian for @ $25 and they will put all of you r photos on photopass so they will be on your CD when you order it. If you are interested PM me and I will try to find the number, I know I have it somewhere.

I don't know how much it would cost, but is there a way to renew wedding vows in the Magic Kingdom? Kind of like a small wedding I would presume...
These are some wonderful ideas.
Also, If there is something you could ship down before you leave as a surprise gift, if properly labeled with the guest's name and date of check-in, they will hold the shipment for you!
Ediblearrangements has some disney themed fruit bouquets and they are delicious!

You can renew your vows but I think the cheapest you can do through Disney is something around $4800. And thats just for ceremony and cake! Disney has a renewal section right on their bridal site.

i would vote for victoria and alberts but do at the chef table. very personal and a great dinning experience
