Anyone eaten there? I just got reservations for 14 of us for next Thursday and would love to know what's good to order!!!!! I'm excited and would love to know the best foods to order. Thanks guys!!:cool1:

And while I'm at it, what about the buffets at Hollywood and Dine?? We're doing a breakfast buffet with the kids as well as an evening buffet. Ideas??

You aren't on the dining plan right? PH is not on it. Not sure what to order since I have never had an interest in going there.

Can't comment on Hollywood & Vine.

We did not enjoy Planet Hollywood at all, so I guess I wouldn't be of much help in letting you know what's good to eat there.

Are you looking for a buffet restaurant for dinner?

Actually it is covered by the dining plan. :) According to their website anyway, I hope they are right or we're all in for a huge shock. LOL!

Was not impressed with the food here, would not be on my top list to visit again.
Prefer the Rainforest Cafe, or the House of Blues over PH.
Evern eated Captain crunch covered chicken? Tasts as bad as it sound, really :)

We weren't impressed with the food either when we went in early September to use our vouchers. I agree about the chicken.

starting to get nervous now. LOL! Maybe I should change it, but with whats on the dining plan there, I don't know which other one would be better. :( Ideas at other parks that we could do instead?

You've got Raglan Road, Wolfgang Puck, and Cap'n Jack's for TS. There's also CS restaurants available. What park are you going to be at that day?

We ate there during our recent summer 2007 trip and I have to agree that the food left much to be desired. Also, if you're seated on the first floor, the music is annoyingly LOUD. I would change to another DTD eatery if I had the chance.

Had a peanut chicken dish at PH a few years back...and was sick for 2 days. We have not been back since then, and I never order any asian peanut chicken dishes anywhere since there. I rec.......change your ADR.

Never at ate the DTD location, but tried Planet Hollywood a few times elsewhere and it was always bad. Over 60% of their locations have closed over the past few years.
A poor imitation of Hard Rock Cafe. Food is about the quality of Dennys if you are lucky but way pricier. There are many better choices for dining there.

We were there in May and enjoyed it, we eat out often and would compare it to Chili's, Applebee's ,Bennigans,TGIF, I have 2 teenage boys and a husband that eat a lot. We ordered mini cheeseburgers, 2 regular cheeseburgers, and potato skins and my husband orders fajitas every place that has them. The boys were still hungry, but that's not unusual. We had the most fun looking at all the displays and memorablia from the movies. We watch way too much as my kids pretty much knew what everything was and it is full of stuff. It was loud. The service was excellent. They did take a picture and I bought it! We also like McDonalds, Sonic and such so we may not be the best to do food reviews! We were on the DDP, but did not use it here. If I remember correctly, it wasn't on it at the time?

We enjoyed it and so did the children, however one word of warning......

We went there on the disney dining plan, and when we checked our credits the next day at concierge, we were told that we had less table serving service credits than we thought we had. When they looked into it they said that we had visited Planet Hollywood twice the night before!!!!! once at 6.00pm and once at 11.50pm!!!! We had to argue that WHY would we eat twice in one night and that our two very young children were tucked up in bed by then!!!

In the end, having spoken with Planet Hollywood, they credited back our table service credits, but only after many calls!!! Just be careful...they obviously were hoping that we wouldn't notice over our 14 night stay!!!!

We enjoyed PH in August when we were there. The food and service was very good. I think it all depends on what your looking for. Our teens wanted to do it and were tired of all the TS resturants were they could'nt get what they classified as normal food. It's not 4 star, but it was'nt horrible either. We used DDP and had no issue's what so ever with it. Just always keep your reciepts....makes it much easier if they do mess up.

PH is on the DDP (at least it was in August). We enjoyed it. It is definitely loud but a fun atmosphere. My kids loved their food. We had some appetizers which were good--zucchini chips were very good. Tricked my boys into eating them before telling them it was zucchini! ;) I think it would fun with a large party. It depends what you are looking for, it just a fun place. I had shrimp fajitas which was good. I think my oldest son had burger and fries which was really big and good according to him. Don't remember all the food but everyone in my family enjoyed it. Lots of cool stuff to look at around the restaurant. As for Hollywood & Vine, we had dinner there as part of the Fantasmic package and I wasn't impressed, but again, the boys loved it. They're not picky and if it's a buffet (get whatever you want, no waiting) they're usually happy.

1. It is on the dining plan.

2. The captain crunch chicken is awesome (i have recipe and make it at home a lot). I think it's on the menu as an appetizer.

3. Was never overly impressed with this restaurant, but I've only eaten at the Chicago location. I hear the Orlando one is much more interesting.

4. I made ADR for lunch just incase (8 people). I had no trouble getting a time so it doesn't seem to be quite as popular as the "official disney" restaurants. (well, at least not at 180 days in advance!)

5. The only reason we're going is because they're giving us a $15 voucher with our package and we'll have used up our DDP credits by then.

Hope this helps.

Hubby and I are planning to eat there on our arrival night (We're staying in DTD that night) to use the $15 voucher we recieved in August. I'm assuming it's best to stick with basics like burgers or is there anything else we should try? I don't think we'd care for the Captain Crunch chicken.

Thanks!

Jennifer
