Plane ticket...too late to change?

Booked my vaca through Disney and already paid in full. I have the travel insurance. Is it possible to change my plane ticket to add an extra day or is it too late? Leave in 31 days.

It depends on the airline. Southwest you can usually change without a charge but pretty much all the others have a per ticket charge. You would have to call them and ask.
Trip insurance covers medical and other problems that prevent you from taking all or part of your trip, not changing your mind about the length of your trip

That is absolutely correct; more reason to do your own plane tickets, so you have more control over changes. The cheaper the fare, the least ability you have to change, with the exception of SW. As you can imagine, Disney is going to choose the cheapest possible to keep your package price down. I found them to be the least convenient (long layovers) and least wiggle room.

Also, as stated, read the fine print for trip insurance. It is more catastrophic and less for deciding to change your trip.

You can likely change your air travel to add another day, but how much this will cost will depend on the airline. If it's Southwest, you'll just pay the difference in fare, if any (probably some difference...if the new fare is lower, you'll get a credit). For most other airlines, you'll pay the difference in fare PLUS a change fee per ticket, usually in the $100-$150 range.

You are going to have to call Disney and find out.

Generally it is possible if you pay the chagne fee and any increase in fare, but some "consolidator" fares (such as those sold in packages like OP purchased) have different rules.

It's highly unlikely at 31 days to departure that your options are less expensive than what you paid at an earlier time, especially if Disney booked it for you, in which case they probably got a cheaper (and less convenient) option.

We did this last February, we were flying Southwest, but we'd already received our Mickey Mail. The luggage tags have a bar code on them. I just called Disney to coordinate with ME and they updates the information in their system associated with the bar code. Everything worked out perfectly, but it was important that we notify Disney of our travel changes. The ME paperwork has a date on it, so they need to update your ME info.

No kidding. If I didn't include some reference to a lower fare being a possibility, I'm sure someone would have pointed out "it could have gone down, too."

It was 150$ per person to change plus another 175$ to add a day at Disney. We decided not to change. One day isn't worth 650$. We can put that toward next trip:)

Sorry. :( Bummer. Next time around, book on you own on Southwest. More chances to change your airfare for less. No change fee, just the difference in price, if it went up, or down. :thumbsup2
