Plane Questions

Need some help... I have never flown before so I need help. Carry on- is that 20 inch upright suitcase considered carry on? or is it a bag?

I also want to know about those glow sticks for the park...can you take them on the plane? I want to put them in my checked luggage.

Go to the website for your airline. You will find the dimensions of carry-on luggage there. Usually a 20" is small enough to carry-on, depending on the plane.

Glow sticks are fine for checked baggage. Check the tsa website for more info.

Your 20" bag can be used as a carry on. Most airlines allow up to 22" for carry on's. glow stick in checked luggage should be fine. what I would suggest is wrapping them in bubble wrap to protect them. Then save the bubble wrap in case you buy something and need a way to get it home safely you will have the bubble wrap to us.

20" suitcase will fit in the overhead just fine.......

If you're on a regional jet a 20" suitcase may not fit in the overhead bin (or may only fit sideways which there may not be room for), but it would still be considered a carry-on and could be gate checked for free.

If you're on a Boeing or Airbus you'll be fine and it will fit in the overhead.

Like everyone said just check on the airline company that your going to fly with they have the maximum size your carry on can be.

As someone pointed out with regional jets that are smaller and don't have overhead your bag would still be a carry on but it would just need to be placed in the cart that will be along the breeze way which they store the luggage under the plane. Also for those flights they will ususally give you a tag for your baggage to gate check it.
