Plane gets in at 7:30 am what should we do untill cheek in?

I was going to try and see if cheek in early but I doubt they would let us considering we are using hotwire.com for our reservation.
any ideas? We are flying into LAX.

Well LAX to DL is a decent hour drive with no traffic- So you'll prob at DL about 9/9:30 ish with little traffic- AND unless you are flyin in on Sun youll be in peak rush hour traffic- so Id estimate 10 ish to be safe-


Are ya playing at DL the first day? Because if so you'll be there at a good time

We are flying on Sunday morning so I am hoping that traffic won't be to bad. And we don't really have any plans for disney on Sunday because my husband works night and won't have had any sleep when we arive, but... this is a huge but for me I am considering going just so we can see pirates and fantasmic! Pirates is closed the next day and we will miss fantasmic if we don't see it Sunday.

Are you staying on Disney property? If you are you can get an early check in. They will hold your suitcases, but will not give you your room number till in the afternoon. In the afternoon you go back to the hotel, get your room number, call the bell hop and they bring your suitcases to your room, so you miss no time in the parks. We do it all the time when we go to Disneyland and world.

I know! (Sorry for bumping this up)...

If you don't want to go right to disney, hit South Coast Plaza... best shopping around! I can spend so so so much time there. They have a website that probably could help you get there. They are either off the 22, 55, or I-5... I can never remember anymore, I just know how to get there. I think that happens when you move away from a place.

thanks for bumping this my trip is just over a week away and I haven't yet figured out what we are going to do. I refuss to go to disney on Sunday, and some light shoping sounds nice.

There is this thing that runs along the entire west side of the state that I don't thinkyou have in Utah. It's the Pacific Ocean and their are some beaches along there that are nice. You can at least do some sight seeing (1) along the coast to kill some time.
If your really adventerous you could do Venice Beach (culture shock) just north of LAX but that is in the wrong direction from DLR.
You can also do DTD for a little while.

I second on visiting Venice beach! My teens loved it ! I loved it too. Very easy to check with internet and find the address and do driving directions. Trust me, if I can do it yOU can! I printed out so many driving directions maps on my trip. ha h ah
another suggestion, is just a couple of miles down on Harbor Blvd. in Garden Grove(?), Crystal Cathedral. BEAUTIFUL church structure. You can roam on your own (not on a Sunday though, there are services) or a formal tour. Church services are on TV Sundays. I don't belong to the church, but went with fam several ! years ago, and just really enjoyed the beauty.
