Plan of attack for AK.

We will be getting to the WDW area on 4/30. Me (34), DH (37), DS (5), and DD(4). Staying one night at POFQ, not having any park tickets, just chill by the pool before we start hitting the parks the next day. I am planning that we will get up early in the morning May 1, move over to WL check in and get our park tickets. I am hoping that by taking our van we can get to AK at the opening.

I am thinking that if we can get in quickly that we can head back to the Safari and hopefully ride in a short time, from there try to get back to the front of the park for the first Lion King show, (I think that I saw on a site it is a 9:40am), from there head over to the Tarzan show (I think 10:45 was a time that I saw on a site), from there head over to Kali and grab FP and eat lunch while waiting either at Tusker House or Flame Tree depending on the time. I am thinking that I would like to try to get out of the park at about 2pm so that we can get settled into our room at WL, then head over to CM for a 5:10 PS. I moved our PS up from 7:10 to 5:10 since MK is open to 9pm so that we can check that park out for a little while that first night.

Is this doable, or do you have other suggestions?

I think your AK plan is excellent. That is probably what we do on each trip there, excluding maybe the Tarzan show. Saw it once, that was enough. But the Lion King, thats another story, we could see it a million times and not tire of it, its excellent! Anyway, I think the only thing I would perhaps change is your idea of Chef Mickey's. If you're leaving AK at 2:00 (you may be able to leave by 1:00 after all that), then by the time you get back to WL it'll be close to 3:00. You'll want a little more time than one hour to chill and unpack, yes? Because you need time to get back over to CM and check in. I don't know, I'm thinking a quick meal in MK that night? And make CM another night...just thinking thats alot to fit in in the small amount of time.

Do you think that even with our own transportation (our van) that if we left at 2 it would take an hour to get to WL?

You may have better luck with your van, but I always give ourselves at least a half an hour just to get out of a park, then walk to the buses etc. All of this takes time. Then getting back to your room and settling down...only to get right back up for a 5:00 PS back at the MK area. Its totally up to you, but to me it just sounds like alot to fit in.
But like I said, your AK schedule sounds like you could possibly leave by 1:00. We can usually fit all of that in and leave shortly after lunch. Play it by ear?
