Greetings DISners!

I'm attempting to plan a trip to Disneyland in October. I'm wondering what would be more budget friendly... continue to plan it myself and search out the deals or go with a company that specializes in planning Disney vacations? What has been your experience?

And if I do go with a Travel Agency... any recommendations??

Thank you!!!:)

I've only planned it myself, however YOU do not pay them to plan the trip, Disney gives them a cut, so it won't cost you a penny (Extra, that is...). So it will cost the same (Only exception is if they plan your flight, some charge a fee for this). It depends how familiar you are with DL. First time? it might be good, but if you know your way around, it might be easier to do it yourself.
Hope that helped!
Josh
P.S. Make sure the agency is approved by Disney, that way you will know they don't charge extra.

We used a TA for our first Disney World trip and are using one this time around as well. It was nice to let someone else deal with actually scheduling the ADRs and when free dining came out I didn't have to fight to get through to Disney to change the reservation to free dining my TA did it. Also I figure times are hard. It doesn't cost me anything to have a TA and it can help someone else make a living. I would just find someone you feel comfortable with. I sento out a couple of quote requests and went with the person that felt right in my gut. I am going with someone new this time and have only ad a few contacts but so far I'm REALLY impressed. The month I booked with her she had a promotion that you will get a $25 Disney store gift card. A nice little bonus! I'm having a problem posting. Brb.

She is an authorized Disney agent and seems to LOVE Disney. She used to be active here on DISboards

Maybe just send her an email to get a feel for her and see what you think.

Oops let me post that differently.
