Has anyone ever used the plan it feature on their Disney chase visa? Right now I have an offer for no plan it fees so it's effectively an interest free payment plan. I know the visa has an option for 0% financing for 6 months. This plan it feature has 9,12, and 18 month options. Just curious if anyone has used this for a direct purchase. I've done a similar plan it with a different credit card and never had any issues.

I was curious about this when I read through the email the other day. It would be nice to pay off in 18 months rather than the 6 months offered for DVC purchases normally.

I tested it a few months ago on a small purchase to see how it worked. I struggled with it. When making a payment I didn’t see an option to not pay toward the plan it amount. I’m sure it was in the fine print somewhere about how payments would be applied but didn’t see it.

The "plan it" feature just divides whatever the purchase amount you are "planning" into a monthly payment plan, with or without a set fee depending on promotions. That amount is automatically included in your required minimum monthly payment, so that you pay off that purchase over the time that you had planned. You cannot defer a monthly payment that was planned.

For direct, Disney lets you do some payments. Lots of people have done it on these boards.

I think I would call Chase about that one. We just made our first ever big direct purchase this year, and like you we used a different card’s plan it offer (24 mo- $0 fees- on my Amex), but we did also use our Chase Visa for about $10k of it. On the Amex, I had to choose the DVC escrow charges & make a plan, but with Chase- since it was a large Disney “travel” purchase- it automatically planned it for me (standard 6 mo -0 interest- there were no offers at that time)…. & that’s the bit that would concern me. Since they automatically “plan” those, would you even be able to put them into another plan? It’s probably worth a call, imo.

Does anyone have any updates on experience with this? I know this thread is old now but I’m doing a search on options for purchasing VDH next week and would like to know if this is a viable option versus the 6 month Disney Visa. Also I recall the guide breaking up my transaction into 2 I think due to max limit of $10k per transaction? Was that for the 6 month interest free thing or is that for all cc? Chase is only offering no plan fee for the first plan so maybe it would be wise to use CSR for one and Disney visa for remainder for the 6 months option?

I just bought a direct VGF contract using the Disney visa. It automatically gets setup with the 6 month plan and cannot be set for longer.

How many points? Thinking about the same, but I am thinking about going for 150 points to get the direct perks.

I just used the My Chase Plan for a direct purchase. My husband had never used it before so he got an offer for a free plan.

I purchased 50 points direct and charged it to our Chase credit card. Set up the plan with no fees for 18 months. I then set up automatic payments for "interest savings balance" amount. This includes the payment for DVC and any purchases that month, so you don't end up paying any interest on anything.

If you don't have an offer for a free plan. I think the monthly fee could end up being pretty high for a large DVC purchase.

We went 175 as there is an added promo with VGF and t Disney visa right now for $1,250 off 175 points or more. So the 25 extra points over 150 effectively were another $50 per point off the price.

What visa? The Disney? They didn’t give us an option it was auto 6 months but is was for 175 points so maybe the size of the purchase makes a difference.

The Disney visa gave you enough credit limit to charge the whole contract on the card?

Yes, we bank with chase and had a second chase card so I called and shifted some of that credit limit over to the Disney card. (They reduced the second cards limit and raised the Disney).
