Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I don't see where it says that you have to use a Tier 1 to get another Tier 1, but we will not know *for sure* until after guests try this on July 24th.
I don't see that either from the current wording.

I think LLMP will be a combo of FP+ and Genie+. Just like FP+, tiers are applied to the pre-selection to prevent guests from hoarding the most popular rides. Once a ride is redeemed, we're free to select any available ride from any park, just like Genie+.

We may not know this yet, but can times overlap or will it be similar to FastPass+ where they couldn't overlap? I saw someone mention 45min vs 60 min. Any insight?

I read that rides can overlap by 15 minutes. This means that they can be spaced at 45 minutes apart, assuming the return window is still one hour.

Apologies if previously asked, but I just noticed that Test Track was not included in the tiered selections or individual ride selection - I wonder why?

So it truly is a benefit to your group, as well as a courtesy to the guests behind you trying to enter the park, to have a ticket card or MB for each person in your group.
Thank you for the thorough explanation!

I was thinking about getting a magic band for everyone at first but they are so expensive, my kids would probably even be annoyed by them and want to take them off, so the card for each is a great (free I presume?) compromise.

There are so many adjustments I will have to consider for future trips. We purchased 6 days of tickets. Maybe it is better for us to buy 8 days and reduce or eliminate multipass purchases.

I also have to see if buying hoppers make sense. I doubt we would ever hop more than 2 times so if I buy 6- 8 days of tickets should I buy them in 2 packets? A 4- or 6-day ticket set, and a 2-day park hopper set. Or is just buying the full park hopper set even without hopping most days less expensive.
It may be easier to go more days and not need the multi pass. But the park hopper fee is front-loaded. Once you add the park hopper, it’s a much better value the more days you have on your ticket. Plus the tickets get cheaper per day, when you add more days to your ticket. So it would make better financial sense to buy an 8 day park hopper, instead of breaking it up into 2 sets of tickets. That will also give you flexibility to hop whenever you want, especially if you decide not purchase the multi pass.

We usually go to our (on-site) hotel lobby and ask for keycards for each person. They are free, and work like Magic Bands (MB)s for room access, tickets, LLs, etc.

My kiddos are little, so either I hold theirs, or they wear them on a lanyard, but you certainly don't have to pay for Magic Bands or stick with digital wallets!

Which brings up my vent. For those guests onsite on July 24th or arriving shortly after, we'll either need to make this large purchase without knowing for sure what it's going to get us (i.e., we will NOT know how many Tier 1s, if any, we can reasonably expect to get).

We're arriving July 25th so we don't have the luxury to wait for reports. I could wait until after 9pm on July 24th to hear reports from the first day, but since they are opening it to everyone on July 24th, it seems a gamble to wait because we don't know anything about how much availability will be gone after that first day.
We’re in the same boat as you! Arriving July 24th; first park day July 25th. Should be another exciting Disney challenge!

Yes, the ticket cards are free, no charge, so a great compromise in place of MBs. And as Cabius says above, if you're staying at a Disney resort you can get a Key to the World card at no charge at the front desk that will open the room door as well as serve as park ticket and allow charging to your resort bill (if you give the person a PIN).

If it’s anything like the old FP+ system there would be very little availability of Tier 1 rides esp in HS (less rides more demand SDD Genie+ quickly books into pm) after you’ve used your first pass (can be tier 2 from what I understand).

If the multi pass is around $40 and the single passes are $18-25 (max of 2 a day; you’re also paying extra to park hop AND multi park genie+ is higher priced!!!), you’re already getting close to $85 per person. From what I understand you purchase the multi pass and then get to make selections (hopefully I’m wrong and you get to see availability prior to purchase).

With Genie+ can you park hop and book in 3 parks? Also wondering if you have 10 nights but only 4 park days and no park pass reservation requirements you can still book 7 days in advance of check in date?

The vloggers have said the first pass needs to be used and it doesn’t have to be tier 1

Another detailed vlog:

Is $40 a random number you threw out for an example or are there reports of this being the price of the multipass?

Well that highest price that I have seen is $39 for MK FP+ and also for Multi-park FastPass+ so it is very close to $40 in the variable price system.

Dave
Yah ok i hadnt seen current one that high price so didnt know if this was fact or just speculation. They could do whatever they want and it does say variable ok i guess based on what lovethattink says also by park, i guess thats still an option, and then just make more selections in one park if thats what you buy.
Guess will just wait till end of July to see what up. We go in Sept when not quite as bad crowdwise and just figured probably not going to pay $40 at that time if thats what it is. Maybe one day, i dont know will see. If its variable, maybe ill just get a park here and there. We do early starts and late starts, etc., and i dont buy individuals since can get those done RD or last thing depending usually.
