Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I have read most of this thread, but may have missed this along the way.
When we used to get Fastpasses, we would get 4 for our family of 4, but only 2 of us enjoyed riding Space Mountain, so we gave the extra 2 passes for them to ride again - just assumed this was ok then, but maybe not?
Now, if we have the LLMP, could we let our DD's use their LLMP's for a ride on Space Mountain then use our LLMP's (as long as it was within the reservation window)? I don't think that this would be 'cheating' but wanted opinions. Especially now since we are paying extra for it?
TIA

Just swap magic bands, I’ve heard of that working.

I was hoping to do the same with Space Mountain - just swap out the Magic Band

This may have been discussed earlier and I missed it but can you only add a tier 1 once you use a tier 1?

I am thinking say I select Tiana as a tier 1 choice but select a 4 pm time and then I select 2 tier 2 rides at 9 and then 10. Once we go at 9am do I have the option of selecting a second tier 1 ride?

Yes. From the Disneyworld website: "Once you redeem a selection on the day of your park visit, you can choose another multi pass experience from either group (subject to availability)." (Group=tier)

Disney’s website says not transferable.

no, the Tier 1 has to be used before you select another

I don't see where it says that you have to use a Tier 1 to get another Tier 1, but we will not know *for sure* until after guests try this on July 24th.

Which brings up my vent. For those guests onsite on July 24th or arriving shortly after, we'll either need to make this large purchase without knowing for sure what it's going to get us (i.e., we will NOT know how many Tier 1s, if any, we can reasonably expect to get).

We're arriving July 25th so we don't have the luxury to wait for reports. I could wait until after 9pm on July 24th to hear reports from the first day, but since they are opening it to everyone on July 24th, it seems a gamble to wait because we don't know anything about how much availability will be gone after that first day.

If that is the case I am glad we will have 2 days at MK to work with.

The next thing I have to learn is if I select rides for my Thursday at MK for Multipass but I am able to ride them on Tuesday will I be able to modify Thursday's selections

If it’s anything like the old FP+ system there would be very little availability of Tier 1 rides esp in HS (less rides more demand SDD Genie+ quickly books into pm) after you’ve used your first pass (can be tier 2 from what I understand).

If the multi pass is around $40 and the single passes are $18-25 (max of 2 a day; you’re also paying extra to park hop AND multi park genie+ is higher priced!!!), you’re already getting close to $85 per person. From what I understand you purchase the multi pass and then get to make selections (hopefully I’m wrong and you get to see availability prior to purchase).

With Genie+ can you park hop and book in 3 parks? Also wondering if you have 10 nights but only 4 park days and no park pass reservation requirements you can still book 7 days in advance of check in date?

The vloggers have said the first pass needs to be used and it doesn’t have to be tier 1

I don't think that is correct. Tiers are for pre-booking only. Once you are in the park there are no more tiers, only availability constraints. The Disney website and the below FAQ says nothing about tiers when selecting a new multi pass experience after you've used one.

EDIT: I meant to write "after you've used any one of your passes, not just what was your Tier 1 pass."

Another detailed vlog:

There are so many adjustments I will have to consider for future trips. We purchased 6 days of tickets. Maybe it is better for us to buy 8 days and reduce or eliminate multipass purchases.

I also have to see if buying hoppers make sense. I doubt we would ever hop more than 2 times so if I buy 6- 8 days of tickets should I buy them in 2 packets? A 4- or 6-day ticket set, and a 2-day park hopper set. Or is just buying the full park hopper set even without hopping most days less expensive.

Luckily, I have an open budget for this trip so I will buy the complete package of multi- and singles lightening lanes for all the park days this year and for future years decide if that was worth doing.

If finances become an issue, what will we decide to cut- is in character meals, is it the more expensive table services, is it the extra Disney stuff, is it going less days.

We went last year, and we clearly spent on items that we did not get value or even any use from the purchase and most likely that will happen again this year. I chalk it up to a learning curve. Ultimately, I will have to do better with how I spend.

Is anything changing as far as the process of scanning in is concerned? Never been on a WDW with the whole family.

If I'm taking care of all the LL for my kids and my in-laws (7 people total) can I scan in a LL with my phone for all 7 people at once or do they need to scan as well?

The Disneyworld website describes it as making your selections (step 3) and then purchasing (step 4), so you'll be able to see your first three before deciding whether you lay out your money. Of course, you won't know what others you'll get on day-of, but we should start getting data on that after the system goes into effect.

And you shouldn't call it Genie+ any more.

Edit: I deleted the last sentence above after realizing you could be referring to the current system in all three instances. I think you could stack for three (or four) parks with Genie+. Apparently LLMP will not have a higher-price multi-park option, unlike Genie+.

For the LL, each person's ticket will have to be tapped separately, they won't scan as a group. So you'll pull up one ticket on your phone, tap it, pull up another ticket, tap that one, pull up a third, tap that one, etc. As you can see, that will take a long time! That's the reason we recommend that each person have a ticket card or a MB - it's much faster for them to tap and go than it is for you to pull up one ticket after another on your phone. Even if you have small kids who can't carry their own ticket or wear their own MB, it's quicker for an adult to tap the child's ticket and then their own than to switch from one ticket to another on a phone.

The same will hold true when entering the parks - and it's even slower because each person has to scan their finger as well as tap their ticket. So it truly is a benefit to your group, as well as a courtesy to the guests behind you trying to enter the park, to have a ticket card or MB for each person in your group.

You can get a ticket card for each person at any ticket booth or Guest Relations outside each park before you enter your first park, or at the Official Ticket Center in DS if you visit there first.
