Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

They added Character meetings and parade viewing back

Edit: they did not, when clicking on the multipass to purchase there is a list of what is included in the pass, they simply copied and pasted genie plus which includes character and parades. They need to change this soon as if someone just goes to purchase they will expect them to be included as it is listed right there as part of the multipass.

I see same on dates. I also see the option to "purchase LL" from the home screen now, which wasn't there before.
Yes they have been playing with the back-end toggles. That's how they change the screen sections without updating the MDE app. The sections on the Home screen have moved twice for me.

First I had the LL section below the Upcoming Plans section and I also had a very large Minnivan / Lyft section under the Virtual Queue section.

Yeah, things are shifting. I saw that, too. I had a pop-up about LL and now it's at the top of home instead of half-way down.

I just got a Pop Up on the Purchase Lightning Lane Passes screen with Important Information banner and telling me that LL will be available to purchase starting July 24 at 7 AM EST.

Note that EST is not the current timezone.... it should be EDT. Another bug unless they just want to change to ET which would cover EDT and EST.

Dave

I have been testing on different devices with different screen resolutions and the Purchase Lightning Lane Passes screen is going to cause some guests issues when trying to navigate the "Calendar" function.

On some devices you don't see the whole month for July due to have the Month starts. You can't see July 24th for example...unless you scroll down. The Green LL Banner is just to big.

Another visual bug on the Purchase Lightning Lane Passes screen.

When I click on the Information bubble "Learn When You Can Purchase Pass" the text for Guests with Other Ticket Types is indented on my iPad Pro and the same paragraph is left justified on iPhone Pro as the other paragraphs.

ETA: remove extraneous you text.

Anyone else only see up to July 20 on the July calendar before it switches to August 1? It shows august 1 to 14 in blue, so I can purchase for those days.

Is it a glitch or just me? I need July 28 and the days after that! We are staying onsite.

Well I can reproduce the bug that @Silvermist999 was seeing on their iPad on my iPad Pro. This is going to be an issue for guests. There is no way to scroll down the page for the rest of July or the rest of August on a larger screen iPad.

ETA: add my iPad Pro text...

I can see prices now until Aug 14. I thought they would be cheaper at least the first few days (glitches, no pre-booking advantage onsite). The tip board still says ‘Genie+ book experience’. You can purchase LLSP and LLMP at 7 am est.

7/24
MK $29
Epcot $21
HS $26
AK $18

Good luck to everyone trying the new system today!

I can confirm that UK guests are locked out of the new system by default (as expected) but a simple free GPS Spoof works perfectly to get you past the block screen, no need for a VPN. BlueStacks (an Android emulation program) also works fine if you prefer to work on a computer, just make sure that you set its emulation mode to Android 11 as MDE no longer runs on its default instance of Android 9 (aka "Pie").

Not got any further than the people selection page though, as our tickets are not valid until mid August.

I understand that the new system is non-refundable. However, are you able to modify selections if you for instance purchase for MK on 7/28, but decide to go to HS that day instead? Or vice-versa? Will you need to pay for the difference in LLMP? Or only after redeeming your first selection. We are arriving on 7/27 and am starting to second guess my planning especially with the new system and the idea that I could be tied to $1200 out of the pocket and if you cannot easily modify that will be very difficult for families with young children on unpredictable schedules. I will likely just purchase for the first 2 or 3 days of our trip and monitor availability this week and book later. Mahalo in advance for feedback!

Yes it is very easy to modify your Park selection and Multi Pass selections.

From the Disney web page: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/lightning-lane-passes/

To get started, tap the Lightning Lane Passes section on the app’s home screen to find your plans. Then, you can:
  • Change your selected park and/or date in advance (subject to availability)—up until the moment you redeem your first Lightning Lane selection of the day.
  • Change each selected experience and/or arrival window in advance (subject to availability)—up until the start of the arrival window.
It is still not clear if you change your Park selection before your day of use what happens to the LLMP Pricing.

We know that as long as you start your day in the First Park you selected and Paid for the LLMP offering you don't need to pay the difference to book LLMP selections in a higher priced park like MK. It is implied that you already paid a premium for a park hopper ticket entitlement (Disney speak).

ETA: still learning to type in English...

The key step that may break your GPS Spoofing method is what happens when your payment method is an International Credit card.

Interesting.
Disney has never had a problem accepting my foreign credit card when we pay our annual DVC dues but all of a sudden we've become second class citizens?

Unlikely to be an issue, as I'd be using the same British card if I was booking from inside the USA anyway. My UK commission-free credit card has been assigned for my room account purchases for years.

Mahalo Dave,
I have clicked every link too many times and have missed this too many times +1!

Until Disney provides an answer as to why they only have included US and Canada in the new Lightning Lane system for pre-purchase. And requires International Guest to arrive in the US before being able to pre-purchase. LLMP / LLSP offerings.

There have been all kinds of rumors from Privacy rules, Customer protection rules, and dozens of other rumors and guesses.

Dave

Can someone who is purchasing today or sometime before August 2 check to see if we will be able to use our disney rewards redemption card as payment for the new system? Thanks!!

I'm confused about something: I only see booking per park. AK is way cheaper than the others. $17 for 7/26. Are we saying I can purchase AK and still park hop to use the pass in other parks? I don't see any option for multiple parks. Just MK, AK, DHS, Epcot individually. Any insight into this?

Correct you only pay the LL Multi Pass price for your first park you visit per day: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/lightning-lane-passes

Here is the Disney text on Hopping:

On the day of your park visit, once you redeem a Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection (or once the arrival window has passed), you can use the My Disney Experience app to check availability for another Lightning Lane Multi Pass experience—and add to your plans.

You can make one at a time until regular park closing (subject to availability). If your park admission includes Park Hopper benefits, you can even choose a Lightning Lane Multi Pass experience in a different theme park.
