Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

It defaults to next available but before you actually select it you can modify the times. There is some value (especially for the harder to get rides) for just picking asap because the times might not be there if you play around too long. For less competitive rides like dumbo I was able to modify pretty broadly without losing the original time.
Makes sense! Thank you!!

my wife took the 3 times that popped up after she selected the rides. No matter what the times were she accepted them.

i selected our 3 rides. then i modified the times before i checked out. So if i got 1010, 1115 and 1225 windows, i was usually able to move the first one up a bit, then moved the second one up because i moved the first one, and then the last one. I was shooting for 9-915AM return windows for all of my first LLMP selections, that way i could check into the first ride and hopefully grab something a bit sooner than someone with say a 945/1000 first LLMP ride.

after my wife checked out, i then went and modified her times in the same way, but because other people had been booking, it was tougher to modified after the fact, then it was when i was doing it in real-time, before checkout.
Good to know. We have several days to book so I would have initially just chosen whatever time was available and moved on.

Was availability better day 7+? Wondering if people are booking the last few days first?

If you have two groups of people arriving on two different days can the first group book for the 2nd group even if their resort reservation starts 2 days later.

Example my family is going for a week Jan 10-17
My sister and her husband arrived Jan 13-17

I can book on Jan 3rd, can I included my sister and her husband on my multi pass for Jan 13-16 or she has to wait and book on Jan 6?

Thanks!

2. Dining reservations block multipass selection times but multipass selection times do not block dining reservation times. Several times I was not able to get my ideal multipass time due to a dining reservation “blocking” the slot (Ie I couldn’t book small world at 1030 as we had crystal palace at 1050, even though I knew we could ride small world at 1025 and still make our reservation.). So I modified crystal palace to later, made the small world pass, then modified crystal palace back to 1050. Risky as you could lose your dining reservation time, but it worked several times.
A bit confused, due to Disney’s 2 hour cancellation policy I assume you are talking about ADRs blocking MPLLs before the day of your trip?

Did ADRs block your ability to select MPLLs on the day of your trip?

You cannot book for her and her party unless they are all on your resort reservation had hold eligible tickets.

When you check in to your resort make sure everyone is linked and MBs active before heading to the parks. We had added a grandparent after booking a free dining package and we always check that our bands are ok at the front desk before heading to the parks. It took them 2 hours outside Epcot to fix the issue and allow us to enter (missed 2 of our 3 FP+ no recovery given; CM dismissively said you have 2 extra magic hours). Park was about to close and we rushed to the food booths to get something to eat.

We were assured the issue was resolved and we were held again on MNSSHP 2 days later (we had been to another park and so park tickets were fixed but not special event) for 1.5 hr despite showing the credit card purchase and the grandparent on MDE (and I had FP+ setup for them as well). So if you add people to a package and maybe if there is a free dining offer I believe they flag your account and IT has to clear it.

Budget extra time, make sure they fixed special event tickets as well; be prepared with snacks and water.

It left such a bad impression that said grandparent never joined us again.
We’re all set, thanks! No one was added.

I booked MK days first to get Tiana. on day 3 (8/24) and on day 7 (8/28) both were right around 12pm.

no issues getting Slinky Dog at HS on 2 occassions, both before 11AM

No issues getting Remy (didn't try for frozen) at Epcot on 2 different days, both before 11AM.

Only 2 days do i not have my first LLMP pre 915, and those 2 are 930 and 950. working to move them, but both days my wife chose the standard times without modifying.

overall pleasently suprised. we will see what else we can pull day of...

Ok - I've been around the block a few times with Disney - but haven't been to the parks since FF was removed. Trying to get up to speed on how things work now.

If I understand things right - we have to wait in line if we don't purchase this Lighting Lane (which is replacing FF). Basically we have to pay for the FF privilege now.

We are going second week of September. We know which rides are popular and approx. wait times.

Yes to clarify I modified the dining reservations the day before so that I could tinker with the lighting lane times. I’m not sure how many hours in advance you can modify dining reservations but you so need to cancel them 2 hours in advance. I didn’t actually cancel a dining reservation, just moved it from 10:50am to 5pm then back to 1050am to bypass the fast pass time block

Yes if you want to use FP now you have to purchase access but that's not the only thing that drastically changed. Some rides are Single Pass, others Multi Pass. Single Pass rides are purchased individually and not included in the multi-pass program. Multi Pass is like the old FP program (minus the really good rides).

Couldn’t get Tiana this morning. Oh well.
How many days were you booking (length of trip)? Hopefully you can secure one of the same day drops. Check thrill data the day before you go to MK to get an idea of when the drops happen.

We are planning on doing MK on a party day in the morning and park hopping to Hollywood that night. Are we able to just book lightening lane multi pass for that evening at Hollywood and not even worry about it for mk?

I've looked around a bit - where abouts to do find out the cost?

So my booking day is August 20th. I’m planning to book my tier 1 choice with LLMP for the day, checkout, do next day, checkout and so on, do SLLP checkout, etc. Can I then go back in later in the day (on the 20th) and pick my tier 2s? Or do I HAVE to choose my tier 2 at same time as tier 1 before checkout in order not to ‘mess something up’? For example, would I be in a situation where I can’t pick tier 2 until day of park visit?

@smeecanada

LL price history here
G+ price history here

If you are going in the next 3 weeks you can see pricing on the app by pretending to book. If you are going later than that I would look at G+ historical pricing for your dates last year as reference as MPLL has been pricing close to G+

Can I then go back in later in the day (on the 20th) and pick my tier 2s?
That's fine you don't have to pick all 3 before you purchase. You can just pick 1, 2, 3 or even none at initial purchase.
For example, would I be in a situation where I can’t pick tier 2 until day of park visit?
You can always add or modify your initial selections at any time.

Dave
