Places you never thought you would try but liked!

My biggest surprise was Tangierine Cafe. BFF & I were getting hungry walking around WS one day. We didn't want to walk all the way back to Sunshine Seasons, so we tried TC. LOVED IT! One of the best CS meals I've had.

Yak and Yetti because we had read some negative things. We actually walked up without a reservation and were seated rather quickly. I could not stop taking pictures because it was so lovely inside. When I finally looked up from taking pictures my husband noticed that we had been seated next to 2 celebrities...Joey Fatone and the guy who played Carlton from the Fresh Prince of Bell Air. The food was actually really good. I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised.

Another surprising favorite was Sci-Fi Dine in. I wasn't sure what to expect but the food was great!

In a way, I suppose it would be Teppan Edo for us. We thought it was going to be good. But when we went there for the first time, we thought it was great! The food was wonderful and very tasty and the service was great!

My son has changed his favourite restaurant to Teppan Edo. I think it's a tie for my favourite (Ohana) and my husband had suggested that we eat there twice and only once at his favourite (Le Cellier). My daughter on the other hand still prefers the Akershus Princess Dining (although she did like the food at Teppan Edo).

Mickeys Backyard BBQ was one I thought I would hate, but ended up loving.

Im not a country music fan, and burgers and dogs arent my type of food when Im on vacation..I can cook that at home! I thought I would give it a whirl for my kids. They enjoyed it...I lOVED it!

The seating is set up so you are forced to sit with another family. That was great. After 6 or 7 days of just my family, it was nice to have a conversation with other adults! They kids talked a little and went up to the dance floor together. Even though I dont like country music, the live entertainment..roper and band...were really great. The characters came out and danced too, which my kids enjoyed.

Yes, it was still burgers and hotdogs..I think chicken and ribs too. It didnt matter, we had so much fun and do we really need to stuff ourselves at every meal in Disney??!!

We really, really enjoyed Yak & Yeti. I went twice (once with grandmother, once with mother). Both enjoyed it so much, they'd go again.
Went with my mother to Tony's, we both had an excellent meal. I was super nervous about this one, after all the horrible reviews. But it was great!
My grandmother really enjoyed Mama Melrose - and it was good. However, it was cold. But still yummy!
The three of us are also huge fans of Les Chefs de France!

Tokyo Dining... The sashimi is so fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere so relaxing, the best sashimi I have ever tasted.
also, flying fish, I love that their menu is still somewhat "unique", as compared to how a lot of Disney's menus are now somewhat generic

Ours was Kona Cafe. We have never been there before but we tried it this past time and it is now our favorite place to eat at Disney World. 'Ohana is very good too.

I will second Tangierine Cafe! I don't care for lamb so I ordered the veggie plate. It is wonderful and very filling.

Loved Kona Cafe for breakfast and dinner.

50s Prime Time- We thought the waiter antics would annoy us but got this as a last minute walkin. We ordered a light lunch (soups) with Peanut Butter and Jelly milkshakes. The soup was great, the milkshakes so fantastic that we went again for lunch the same week! Oh, yeah, the waiters were so much fun my face hurt from laughing!

For me it was Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco. I loved it, and not just for the belly dancers! The food was very different, delicious, and espically their tea was unique tasting.

wow! Mixed reviews on this one! I will have to look at the menu! I just made and ADR.

I am really not a buffet fan but I am glad I tried Boma and Crystal Palace. I liked them both very much.

We did Markkesh (sp?) on our first trip and had a blast! None of us are pickey eaters though, and we are very adventurous.

Our Diamond in the Rough was JIKO. Ive never heard any bad things about it but it is never on the 'We ate at ..... and it was the best...!' threads. It happend to be one of the only places we could get ADRs for that night, which scared us right off the bat. Why would this place have ADRs if none of the others do? However, minus the amount of our bill, it was the best food I've ever ate We splurged with an expensive bottle of wine (since they are on the 'Orlando's Best' for Wine Lists, shared an appitizer, and got free desert since it was our anniversary with a card (signed by the chefs in an African language... which of course we couldnt interperate lol). It was so cool!

Boma was a BIG iffy for us. We almost didn't go, but it turned out to be one of our favorites now.

Kona for us. I only booked it because I couldn't get Ohana's. When we walked in we were like, "This is it? It looks like the Greek reastaurant back home." But we really loved it, so tasty.

Tony's at MK. We try to make that our first meal each trip. DH loves the spaghetti and meatballs and I usually get the fish. Of course this is also a little bit sentimental as we ate our first meal there on our pre-honeymoon. (we weren't able to have a honeymoon, but took a vacation to WDW a few months before the wedding...so we call that our pre-honeymoon)

Biergarten at Epcot. We are not big on buffets, but this one is great. Lots of variety...and I love the apple strudel with vanilla custard. I have ADRs for our Feb. trip.

Was not fond of Boma. I am an adventurous eater, but most of it really didn't appealed to me...except the Zebra Domes (I see a pattern here).

Before last year, we had never really considered trying Le Cellier. When we did, we realized we were missing out on something good!

Another place we never really considered trying because we always thought it was nearly impossible to get into is CRT. The food and atmosphere for dinner is amazing.

Nine Dragons and Rose & Crown. Both DH and I love the sesame chicken at Nine Dragons. Rose & Crown was a huge surprise for us. The Vegetarian Shepard's Pie was one of my favorite things I had during our last trip. Dinner there was so much better than at Le Ceiller (major disappointment) which came as a huge shock to us. We can't wait to go back for dinner there in May!
