places to rent EVC AND WHEELCHAIR

at WDW . anyone know a website or 2

Ill ask my folks they have rented from an offsite vendor and have been VERY (understatement) with their service and pricing! I know they delivered right to bell services at BWV on the morning of their arrival. They have rented from this place 3 times . On one visit the unit had a battery issue and promptly responded to the service call.

More to come.

We rented one from Walkermobility.com for my DH 8 1/2 years ago. It worked well for us.:thumbsup2 You need to be able to transport the ECV or wheelchair either in a car or on Disney transportation.

I used Buena Vista Scooters for the ECV--right on Disney property. Had absolutely no issues with the ECV--was dropped off at bell services and returned there when we went to get on DME.

Sometimes you can get a free wheelchair just by leaving your credit card imprint at the resort. We got one a few years ago for my mom at OKW. It's a first come, first served thing.

You might check the Disabilities Board as well.

To expand on this...I just used one at OKW for my Mom last month...we flew and did not bring her chair with us.

The resorts have a limited number of manual push wheelchairs for free use during your trip. They aren't always in the best condition, the one we used had been well worn and left out in the rain, as it was quite rusty. But it did push well, which is the main thing, I guess.

For a list of vendors in the WDW area that supply both ECV's (scooters) and manual wheelchairs, check out the disABILITIES! board.

I second Walker Mobility. We used them in February 2007 and it was great.

Sorry for my late reply but my folks have have rented several times use scooterama as well. Secong the comment from disneynutz Great Service!

Specifically check the disABILITIES FAQs thread. Post #2 of that thread has links and phone numbers to companies that DIS posters recommend (some of them mentioned here).
There is a link in my signature to that thread.
