Placeholder's onboard credit

The rule is placeholders can not be applied to blackout dates and guarentee rates (already discounted room). My question is the 10% discount can't be applied, however, can the on board $100 or $200 still be received?

Was looking st a guarentee 7 night cruise and wss wondering if I can still get $200 OBC by using a place holder.

They are doing away with the OBC but I'm not sure of the dates. We booked for Christmas next year and it's blacked out from the 10% but we're still supposed to get the $100 OBC for our 4 night.

That is good to know. Yeah, I did a Sept 23/27, 2019 back to back. Found out that cruises starting Oct 1, 2019, the placeholders will have no onboard credits. Basically I have currently the last of 4 placeholders that has onboard credit.

DCL should honor your "older" Placeholders that were booked to include OBC. On blackout cruises, you can use the placeholder without the 10% discount - it will include the OBC. However, *GT cruises require a brand-new booking, so I don't believe you can do that with a placeholder at all -- no discount, no OBC. (A regular GTY rate with a specific category should be fine for full benefits.)

We sailed the Wonder September 30-October 4. I made the placeholder on October 1 due to one huge group taking two hours to make theirs on September 30. The CM explained the OBC was discontinued on September 29. Bummer. Business incentives 101 will tell you that clients will spend more with that OBC than without. I believe it’s a poor decision.
