Placeholder/OB form from TA

Has anyone used a pre-filled form from their TA to book a Placeholder or Onboard booking?

I have always used the DCL form and simply deposit it into the box.

I'm curious to know if it's acceptable to use the TA form to drop off in the box.

Or does DCL prefer you fill out their own form?

I would love to hear other's experience with this.

I am a TA and I only provide my clients with a pre-filled DCL form for all their cruises, no other types of form.

I don't know if Disney has a preference, but if you booked through your TA for the cruise you're on, you should be able to check the "YES (keep travel agent)" box and your TA's info will be linked to placeholder. Even if end up filling out DCL's placeholder form instead of your TA's, it won't take but 2 min for you and your TA to fill out a transfer reservation request once you're back from your cruise. I just did that for my own placeholder (member cruise, so no TA involved) and Disney had it linked to my agency within the day. Just remember to transfer within 30 days for your TA to be able get your ressie and give you all their perks.

Hope that helps!

I appreciate your post. Thank you.

Now, I'm wondering if the form my TA provided is just a copy of the one DCL has. Since it's printed with the TA logo on the top, I assumed it was an agency-specific form. But perhaps, it's the same form, just photocopied and the logo added.

I've only filled out the form that's available at the desk. I don't know if there are others that the CM may provide that could possibly be identical to the one my TA has provided.

The reason I ask is because I had an issue with DCL not linking it to my TA even though I specifically filled it out on the form. When DCL found the specific form I used, they saw that I had been very explicit with the TA designation and they don't know why it wasn't processed as such. It was eventually fixed by my TA.

So, I'm just wondering, if it's best I use the form that my TA has provided so there is no ambiguity.

It sounds like perhaps it was just a mistake that time since you filled it out correctly.

I agree. I'm positive it was just a mistake. I just want to do what I can to draw attention to the fact that I'm using a TA. If they go through the DCL form quickly, they may not see it, but if they pick up a form that isn't their normal form, I'm hoping it will make them look at it more closely.

I know, it seems like I'm overthinking this. But I don't like that fact that even though I filled it out correctly. My TA had to call them and find out what happened. I don't like the fact that she had to fix someone else's oversight.

I can understand the concern. Well, maybe worthwhile to book it in person at the desk? It only took a few minutes and they were quite good about asking me if I wanted to use the same TA for the placeholder.

Thanks for the advice. :) I would normally agree but the last time I attempted to book directly with a Future Desk CM, I told her that I just wanted to do a Placeholder and she immediately showed me the form that I can fill out and drop in the box. She said it's much easier for me.

I was fine filling out the form. But I did get the impression, she would rather spend time with the cruisers who are actually booking a specific date. This was reasonable and to be honest, every time I went to pick up the form, there was a line up or they weren't even there.
