Is there a good place (or is it even possible) to view the fireworks over the castle from outside the park?

I thought I remember reading they can be seen from the Polynesian (but we're staying at the All Star Movies).

I thought this would be a nice thing to do the night we arrive since I wouldn't want to use a park ticket for such a short time, and it would be a nice, quiet thing to do in anticipation of a park the next day? Also, want to get the kiddos to bed nice and easy the night before!!!

Any thoughts? Thank you!

They offer a "Specialty Cruise" for the Wishes Show which is suppose to be fantastic. I have one booked for my Dec trip and am going to try to get an Illuminations - Specialty Cruise for Jan trip.

Thanks for the reply...

Oh, is that what the Illuminations Cruise is - sort of a short tour of the fireworks?

Where does one find more information on this - I'll check on this, but I'm affraid it will be out of our budget.

I was more thinking a place within the resorts that we could just mosey around, explore a different hotel a bit and see some fireworks.

Thanks again!

You could view Wishes from the 4th Floor outside patio at the Contemporary Hotel. The fireworks aren't really "over the castle" in this case. The aerials will actually look as if they are over Space Mountain.

I personally like to view Wishes from directly in front of the castle. In my opinion, Wishes was really designed to be seen this way. You get the low-level stuff and the aerials centered "properly".

Another problem with the 4th floor of the Contemporary, there is no music for the fireworks being played.

They try to dissuade people from using the observation deck outside of the California Grill.

Ted-

Last year we viewed the MK fireworks from the 4th floor observation deck at the Contemporary, and the music was piped in via speakers mounted right there on the wall.

You can Wishes from several places outside MK. It can be seen from the beach at the Poly. Technically the beach is off limits to anyone not staying at the Poly (and occasionally, during busy seasons they check resort IDs), but usually CMs look the other way, especially if you just visited one of the Poly's restaurants. You can also see Wishes from the Contemporary, as others mentioned, and from a few other resorts. A good place for you though, if you're looking not to spend money, is the Ticket & Transportation Center. I've never viewed them from here myself, but have read reports from other DISers who have. They say it gives you a faily unobstructed view, and the music is even piped in. I'm not sure if they come up right over the castle though (although I'm sure they're over the castle at the Poly beach).

I agree with the TTC. Last week when we got off the EPCOT monorail on route to our room at the Poly as the fireworks were going off. I must say this view was far better than our view from the Poly beach. They also piped in the music at the TTC and there is no music on the beach. Also the TTC was very uncrowded with lots of unobstructed views. Have a wonderful time:)
