DH has informed me he wants to eat *good* fried shrimp while in Orlando. (Good boiled shrimp would also likely be appreciated - he grew up on fresh Gulf shrimp - but he specifically mentioned fried.) So, I'm looking for recommendations for any of the hotel (we are staying at the HRH), CityWalk, and park restaurants where this might be accomplished. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Orlando? you need to come to louisiana for some GOOD fried shrimp ;) :thumbsup2
naw..im just kiddin. sorry I cant help you with that info, the only thing we ate in orlando was pizza.
but really...you should come. :p

Hmmm..can't recall ever eating shrimp at USO.

However, Bubba Gump's just opened which I'm hearing good things about...will try on our trip in September, too.

The Po'Boys at O'Brien's are good. I always get the crawfish, but shrimp is a choice on them.

We've also always enjoyed our meals at Lombard's at Universal. It's seafood, right on the lake there. I've never tried the shrimp, but all their fish meals we've tried have been wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate personally to go back and try something else.

I know I buy shrimp from Costco from Margaritaville. They have several flavors, Jamaican jerk and Calypso Coconut, but they're not fried...but very good. Based on those menu items, I wonder if they have a fried shrimp dinner there.

Best of luck with your shrimp quest :)

Yeah, DH grew up in the Florida Panhandle (Ft. Walton Beach) and he does know shrimp - we go back to visit every year, and he always boils up a bunch! Not sure why he wants to eat shrimp in Orlando, and fried, yet! :teeth: I know one thing I'm not looking for in Orlando that I know is featured in some restaurants (e.g., Cape May at the BC) - clams from New England. I can drive a few miles from home and get those. ;)

There are at least 2 good seafood restaurants in the old Universal park, I am thinking one of them is near the Jaws ride. Just find the one that has a unique big round fish tank, that's the one I hit last time and it is very good. I don't eat fried shrimp only grilled, but I'm sure they gotta have it.

Bubba Gumps of course!!!!!! :cool1: They do every type of shrimp you can imagine.

I know you asked specifically for onsite restaurants but if you would consider offsite, you should try Dixie Crossroads, now located in Orlando at Festival Bay mall, which is at the north end of International Drive. They're known for their rock shrimp and wild ocean shrimp.

I second that. We haven't been to that one yet but the one in Daytona Beach. And we loved it. I am a shrimp lover too ! I miss fresh seafood living so far from the ocean like we do now. I always stuff myself with it when we are anywhere we can get fresh seafood. :teeth:
