I actually purchased about 100 of those Lenox Mickey ears.Linda
First, great idea! Love it!

Laura- I have probably shown you mine, but here they are again.

You could get little cystals and make M&M heads (pink for Minnie & black for Mickey) using three crystals at the top of each place card.

Those are cute Steph. How did you print them up? or did you have someone right the names?

They are from a paper kit I bought that could be run thru the printer! Very inexpensive and easy to do. To get rid of the perferated edges I ran them thru a paper cutter.

Here is a picture of the wire I bent to look like mickey. Sorry I am a little late posting, my fiance and I went skiing for the day. Please keep in mind that it is just rough, but it gives you the idea.

If you would really like the Mickey Lenox ears - you could call the lenox outlets and they will connect you with stores all over the country until you find as many as you want. They are great that way. I have done it and someone who I work with has a daughter getting married and she was able to track down 250+ lenox votive holders for very little money. Just wanted to put that out there for you!

Oh thanks! I just might try that.

My Dh and I got married this past July, we had a buffet style reception as well, what we did was theme each table with a different character. For example we were the Cinderella and Prince Charming table, we had a mickey and minnie table, we had the donald and daisy table, and so forth. Our actualy place card holders we made our own wedding cds ( which were our favors as well), with our favorite songs and favorite Disney songs, and the cover was the picture of the character table they were sitting at. Each table had a stand with the same picture in it. Something else we thought was really cute, was they have chocolate place cards which they write the names and tables where every one is sitting, then they also can double as your wedding favors. I think it is really important with a reception to have a sitting arrangement so 20 people are not all at one table, or 1 person is not feelig left at sitting by themselves at a table. Happy Planning!

That is a FANTASTIC idea! DF and I were trying to think of how we could encorperate multple caracters into the reception, and that would be lovely!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!

No problem! If you have any other problems, questions, concerns, please write me! I know how crazy it is to plan a wedding! Happy Planning!

Those are adorable. Do you mind telling me how much they cost? If you would like you can pm it to me. I love love this idea!

I don't mind!
They were $12 each. We get a 10% AP discount at World of Disney so that helped a little. However, my FMIL is buying these since they are hosting our wedding dinner. We are having an intimate so since there was no rehearsal his parents offered to pay for the wedding dinner. My future in-laws are awesome! We have a great relationship and they are really excited to finally marry my DF off!

Thats not bad at all. Don't think that's really gonna work for my wedding though. We are having roughly 50 people. Might do that for another gift idea though. Thank you so much for sharing.

Wedding cds are a great idea! That is what we are using for favors. But I never thought of using them as place card holders as well! Did you just put the persons name on the front and table number? How did you make the cover? What sort of cd case did you put them in? Thanks. :bride:

We considered just giving one to a couple to cut the costs (FMIL didn't want to do that) by using the tall photo holder which has 3 magnets on it. That way you could put two place cards in one since couples are going to sit together anyway.
Just an idea!

If you have table setting place cards, the ones that actually sit on your dinner seat, what do you do for letting the guest know which table they sit at? I thought this might cause confusion because they have to look at each table to find their seat?

My idea is to have simple folded cards to let them know which table to sit and then do Sand Dollars with their names painted on them or we were thinking of doing the seashell idea.

Thats a very cute idea. I'm just getting frustrated. So many great ideas. Just at the point, I think I'm overwhelmed.

Thank you everyone for the great suggestions.

We used slim line clear cases, for the covers we printed off Disney couples pictures off the internet, we also printed on each picture, in the corner, our names and the date. (We went to Staples and bought the cd maker, and labeler kit) Then we went to Micheals, but I just saw that Walmart sells them for cheaper, and purchased these little Mickey head stickers that were white so we were able to write on them. I picked out a sharpee marker that would match with my bridesmaids dresses, to keep the color scheme, and wrote the names on the Mickey head and stuck it on the cover. I didnt have to write a table number because on all the tables were the same pictures that were on their cds. So my family knew that was where they were seated. Our wedding coordinator placed them out on a table during the pre-reception hour, so everyone could find theirs. It was cheap and I have gotten so many complaiments on what a great cd it was. Also on the cd labels we printed out pictures on them so that when our guests opened the cds they would see our engagment pictures and just our favo. pictures from Disney trips! On the plane I packed them as a carry on bag, just so I knew they would be safe and I made about 20 extra incase anything happened! If you need any other help just let me know! :thumbsup2 Happy planning
