I thought I should start to look for an officiant so I had a look around and liked the sound of Rev Kevin Knox so I got in touch and he is free on my date so will probably book him in this week. He needs a $50 deposit but that isn't too much if we can't get our date.

Good recommendations on here was one reason. Lots of information on his website with lots of options another.

And then my third reason is that i've seen a couple of the others on Disbrides videos and although I liked them I realised they said the same thing each time and I realised I didn't want to know in advance what he was going to say. Does that make sense?

Well I've gone ahead and booked Rev Knox and paid the retainer.

He mentions in his pack a wine ceremony that you can do instead of the Unity candle which i'd wanted to do but with the wind at Sunset Point this might not be a good idea so I'm off to search the internet for the special cups he mentions.

So I had wanted to do the Unity Candle but the wind might make that a bit tricky so I started to look at the Wine Ceremony and found these cups online:

At the same time I saw the sand ceremony set:

which made me change my mind again as we'll be at the beach and I don't really like wine so this might be more appropriate.

I wonder if I can find one in the UK to save having it shipped backwards and forwards.

We did the Unity Candle at Epcot and even though it was not too windy we could not get the candles to light. I am a little sorry we did not do the sand ceremony. I love the heart shapped sand holder.

It is pretty isn't it. The only one I can find so far in the UK is not as nice.

There is a place in Alum Bay on the Isle of Wight that makes glass and you can watch them. Maybe they do things to order?

ooooh yeah!! Isle of Wight is sooo famous of the sand glasses!! I remember making a sand bottle years and years ago when we went on holiday there... it was probably 1992?? hehe

We've been a few times now and I still love to go and watch them making the glass! And of course we love filling the glass ornaments with sand too! Trying to see who could get the most in, or make the prettiest pattern lol!!
