Via Napoli's menu has changed and rather than being called "create your own", they start with "The Margherita" which is the pizza base. From there you add your toppings. Trust me, when we dined there on 10/8/21, we were confused and so was the poor kid who waited on us. We insisted we didn't want a margherita pizza, but rather the "create your own". After some back and forth (and receiving our drinks), I scanned the QR code and realized we were both speaking about the same pizza--tomato sauce base with mozzarella cheese AND we added/subtracted (no basil) from there.
Felt bad for our poor server and tipped him well, but when we hear margherita pizza, we do not think of the classic tomato sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese--we think fresh tomatoes, whole basil and homemade mozz balls and that's it. We simply had a "failure to communicate".
