Going to the castle! Hooray!
Today we are going to the Magic Kingdom. And we are going early. We were up, fed and out the doors headed to the bus stop by 8am. That is pretty darn good for us!
We arrived at the Magic Kingdom at 8:20.

It wasn't really too crowded that early in the morning.
Straight for Fantasyland and a ride on Dumbo! Yes, Neth got in line this time too. On our last trip he thought Dumbo was babyish. He wanted a Dumbo with a blue hat this time, since blue is his new favorite color!
The line was fairly short, 10 minutes, so pretty soon we were in the holding area waiting to board. Our little family was four people away from the gates and everyone in the holding area seemed to be patiently waiting. Before the gates open, we are told to take our children by the hand and of course, I was holding Brenne's hand.
As soon as the gates opened a man, who had been at the very back of the area, shoved his way through with his son and pushed Brenne out of his way causing us to seperate.
She was confused and kept walking, DHdidn't see what happened so kept walking with Neth. I of course was stuck in this mob of people vying for the perfect elephant, yelling for Brenne to stand still so I could get her. That man made me soooooooo furious.
Not the way I wanted to start out my day.
I just couldn't understand it. If you are in the holding area, you are getting on the ride!
It really was only a few seconds, felt longer, but I finally reached her and we got into a Dumbo right behind daddy's.
Once we were in the air, I tried to forget about the rudeness of that man.
Brenne and Neth were both giggling and smiling, DH was throwing his hands up in the air. He always does that on Dumbo, like it is a thrill ride......
We landed, and I told DH what had happened. We just shook our heads, and I told the kids that if anything like that happens again they should move to the side of the crowd and stay put.
We were following the Unofficial Guides tour plans, so our next destination was Winnie the Pooh. 15 minute wait. Brenne loves this ride.
Neth was trying to guess what color honey pot we would be in, and he guessed right. Purple! This is such a cute ride and we all enjoyed it. Especially when our honey pot floated away in the flood. And Neth liked seeing Tigger in the ride! Even though he tries to act tough and grown up, he is still my little boy!
After the ride, we backtracked to Peter Pan. Another favorite of the kids. Again, we only had a 15 minute wait. Off to Neverland!!!
Brenne loves to see mean Ol' Captain Hook.
Off the ride, I said we should do It's a Small World since it is closing for an 18 month long rehab, but DH and Neth didn't want to ride it. I said we could catch it later then.
We walked around the corner to Philharmagic, which had a 10 minute wait.
There are several surprises during the show and we loved it! Neth was ready to see it again.
We changed Brenne into her Ariel outfit, so she could go meet the mermaid. But the line was 45 minutes long. I thought we could try again later.
Instead we kept to the guide and headed for Tomorrowland. On our way there, I spied Tweedledee and Tweedledum by the Mad Tea Party. It wasn't crowded, so I figured Brenne could meet some characters.
Buzz was nearby outside of Cosmic Ray's Cafe. Neth wanted to head over there.

Brenne ran up to meet the twins and Neth joined her. Dee, or is it Dum, was upset because we didn't have two pens so they could both sign autographs at the same time! He actually gestured like he was rolling his eyes at us! Neth just shrugged, so Dee (or Dum) shrugged also. They kind of teased the kids and we got a nice picture.

Then Brenne wanted to meet the White Rabbit. So we got in that line, not too long. When it was her turn he bowed to her and she curtsied. He gestured toward her dress and she swayed. He grabbed her hands and started dancing with her! He twirled her around!! The Cast Member nearby complimented them on their dancing skills and said the Rabbit had a good partner.
Brenne gave him a huge hug!!! He blew her a kiss and we heard the "smmmmckk" sound. Very sweet.
By this time, Alice and the Mad Hatter had joined the party.
Well, we couldn't leave and not meet Alice!
They were both very much in character! And once again, they were super sweet to Brenne/Ariel. Alice loved her dress, called her Ariel. Asked how Flounder was doing, is he being a guppy? Asked Ariel how her father was doing, and Brenne turned around and pointed at daddy! It was cute. They were asking her questions and she was talking right back. After hugs, pictures and autographs Alice curtsied to Ariel and Ariel curtsied back.
Walking through the park in her dress, people were commenting on how pretty, how cute, what a princess!
Brenne got so much attention that day!
Buzz had to go check in with Star Command, so we didn't actually get to meet him, but it was cool seeing him up close.
We walked around to Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, which had a 45 minute wait, so DH went to get us all a Fastpass. A CM was just handing them out there. To kill time we decided ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and talk about what to do now. The added bonus is that Brenne wanted to ride Space Mountain, and the TTA goes through Space Mountain so she could get a little glimpse of the ride.
We were able to go see the Carousel of Progress and The Timekeeper while we waited for our Fastpass time. Both were new for us. Neth really enjoyed the Timekeeper.
Even with seeing those three attractions, we still had time to kill before our Fastpass time and the kids were a little hungry. So DH got Neth a turkey leg and we shared some frozen cokes. Neth loved that turkey leg!

Finally, time for Buzz Lightyear. Brenne wanted to ride with daddy, then she changed her mind and wanted to ride with mommy. Needless to say, we got our butts whipped. It just isn't fair to go up against someone who has had military rifle training on this ride. :earboy2:
Brenne's score was 300, mine a paltry 18,800. Jason and Neth combined had over 180,000. One of these days, I will figure out how to beat my husband on this ride! We thoroughly enjoyed it, Buzz is one of our favorites.
It is after noon by now and we decide to head back to the room to rest and recharge our batteries.
People are beginning to line up for the afternoon parade, which they are running at 1 and 4 due to the crowds.
On our way out I suggest we swing by the Main Street Barbershop to see what the wait time is, since most people are waiting for the parade.
When we get there, only two people are ahead of us so we decide to wait. We wind up with an hour wait, because only one barber is working plus everyone steps outside to view the parade.
It turns out all right, since we are at the end of the parade route, the kids get lots of attention from the characters.
Brenne is even singled out by Cruella de Ville and Ariel and Prince Eric!!!!!!
With the parade over we head back inside.
Soon enough Brenne is in the barber chair. She is afraid that the haircut will hurt, as she has never had a "pro" haircut before. She has only had her bangs cut (by daddy, who did so without my consent!).
I tell Maura this and she in turn assures Brenne.
Maura is sooooooo good with Brenne. She talks to her throughout the haircut. The talk about school and baby dolls and birthdays.
Maura french braids the sides of Brenne's hair, which is so cute. I am still trying to figure it out! Then she asks Brenne if she wants a special color in her hair.
Brenne says yes and chooses pink.
Maura mixes the color up in her hand, then uses a comb to apply it to her bangs, the braids and back of her hair--which is now shoulder length.
Then she sprinkles pixie dust in Brenne's hair!!!!!
Brenne was afraid she would fly away, but she stays put.
Maura says that she wants to see Brenne's expression in the mirror so she turns her around slowly, and Brenne smiles so big. I was almost in tears. She looked so pretty.
Maura called her a beautiful princess and gave her a ton of Mickey stickers, around 40 or so.
I paid the $12, gave her a tip, then gave Maura a big hug. It was a great experience and one we hope to repeat in the future.
Before we left, another mom waiting in the shop asked if she could video tape Brenne. She was military and had been videotaping conversations with other visitors.
We said, why not? So she videoed herself talking with "The Little Mermaid, Brenne".

When we left the shop, Brenne started receiving even more attention. The hair coupled with her Ariel dress was just drawing people over to her. People just wanted to say hi to the Princess.
We got back to the bus stop and quickly a bus picked us up. Soon we were back at our resort.
The kids were really wired, so it was hard to get them to lay down. Finally, one by one they did. First Neth, then DH, then Brenne. I had to put a towel under her to catch pixie dust..............................

When we awake, it's back to the Magic Kingdom!
