Thanks for all the PD, thoughts, well wishes, etc. I really appreciate them.
However, this Roamer had no surgery today. Yes, I was all set. I even made it as far as pre-op.
The orthopedic doc had blood tests when I arrived. One test showed I was pregnant! And no I am not. And I am not just in denial. I am 45 years old and have been sterile for probably 20 years -- by not my choice.
So now I need more tests to find out why whatever count is elevated enough to make me show up as preggers. I was told it is not a hormone imbalance. Could be a tumor. Just keeps on getting better, doesn't it?
But I never have had cancer. Cancer doesn't run in my family. Female troubles yes -- cancer no. So an ultrasound may be shortly forthcoming.
Just keep the dust coming! All's not lost yet.

Before we (I) get too excited, I need to mention that my HCG level showed as slightly elevated. But we are only talking 8.5, on a scale where 5 is normal.
My dear RN sis is sending me web pages of HCG and cancer. (Thanks sis ) But some of their levels were in the several hundreds.
Gee I wasn't so worried till she sent me all that crap!
Whatta day.


Hhhmmm... One article mentioned HCG and steroids. I had a hefty cortisone injection late May.
