We just got back and I haven't made my way through all the posts - forgive me if this is old news, but I wanted to tell you about our experience seeing Tink in Toontown! I had read about the long lines, so I figured, if we were going to do it, we had to do it right at rope drop. I didn't even tell my kids about meeting Tink - I didn't want them to be disappointed if the lines were too long!

So - our first MK morning was morning EMH for MK. Park opened at 8am and I had planned to get in line at the Toontown rope around 9:15am. I saw people already gathering at the Toontown rope around 9am - and I decided to get in line anyway. I sent DH to the teacups with the kids and told him to call my cell to check status.

They dropped the Toontown rope at 9:00am. They didn't walk us to the fairies - there was a spirited brisk half-jog by the crowd to the tent! (No one was in danger of getting trampled that I saw) But everyone was on the move! I got in line - we were told it was 30-45 minutes from seeing fairies. They would NOT say who was there. (I'm not sure anything else in Toontown was up and running at 9am, maybe just the fairies)

I talked to a CM and they said the fairies HAD started greeting (but the princesses hadn't) - so we weren't just waiting in line for a closed door, the meet-n-greet was really started. It was more like a 30 minute wait. DH had time to take the kids to teacups and Pooh - then joined us in line.

We got to see Tinkerbell and Iridessa. They were very charming, we did not feel rushed - but it wasn't much more than a meet-n-greet (a little chat, pictures, autographs, hugs). My girls were very happy!

A group of us were at the MK this week-end for our "girls only" week-end and our main objective was to relax and have as much fun as possible. Early in the morning we decided that we were going to go on a character hunt and get pictures taken. I remembered about the Princesses and steered everyone back to ToonTown. I don't know who had more fun - the people around us watching 2 - 21 yo, a 53 yo & a 60 yo woman standing in line for pictures with the princesses and the fairies. We had an absolute blast. The princesses were a direct walk on, but we waited about 45 minutes for the fairies. Tinkerbell had a blast teasing us...........plus it was the 60 yo's birthday so the CM's gave her a special Tinkerbell Pin to commemorate her b'day. They don't realize how that was the highlight of her day!!

It's well worth the time as the character interaction is great & we weren't rushed at all. :santa:

I can't wait for the 24th of January to come!! It's my birthday and I'm going to be going with my children and my cousin and her little boy.
My daughter and I are so excited about the Fairies.
DD wants to meet Rosetta and I want to meet Fawn.
I kind of wish they had all the fairies out at one time to meet.

We met the fairies on the day after Thanksgiving. We went over that evening...posted wait was 45 minutes and it took us about an hour. It was worth the wait as my son really enjoyed the experience. They greeted us as mainlanders and referred to my son as Sparrow Man. Each fairy spent a good amount of time with Colby and they even played a game of eye spy.

The way the room is set up, it really seemed to only allow room for 3 fairies at a time...I think it would be too crowded for more. They only take 3 families back at a time to the magic hallway and 1 family goes into the room at a time. We also got pixie sized photo pass cards (on a wrist band) for the meetngreet.

Lots of fun!!

Even our photopass photographer really got into and seemed to really enjoy his job.

It is my understanding (from an Entertainment CM on another board) that the Fairy Games (e.g. Eye Spy) have been discontinued, and this is now a regular meet-n-greet. This is to help cut down on the waits in line.

Our game of eye spy only involved Silvermist, Tink and my son. They played it while Fawn was finishing up with the family in front of us...no-one was waiting behind us (only 2 families in the room at the time).

Although I do hope wait times have decreased...it was crazy watching people zip through the Princess line while we waited.

yes, no more games. still a limited number of guests in the room and a lot of interaction.

I will post pictures soon! And there were no "games" played - but my girls didn't mind. They were very awestruck and it was a lovely thing to experience. (I don't think they bought into the whole "shrinking" thing, though)

One thing I don't understand is why they can't post which fairies are in the room at the entrance to the line - this is what they do for the princesses. How hard is that??

I did love the mini photo pass on the bracelet - I used it for the rest of my trip, it was so handy!

because by the time you get even remotely close to where the front of the line is, the fairies would have changed anyway. they trade off every hour or so.

Not according to everyone we talked to. The majority of the time it's Tink, Iridessa, and Rosetta. We were told Silvermist and Fawn usually don't come out until later hours (if the park is open late). We checked numerous times and this was the case. Different people playing the same fairy might switch, but that's about it.

To the OP, and anyone else, don't bother asking the people manning the line for the fairies who is in the room. Ask the people coming out of the room (they pass by the middle/end of the line) or ask the people working at the photo desk. They were always helpful and honest with us. :)

that was according to a character attendant i spoke to. another told me it changes daily, but they were trading off, at least in the afternoon. i actually had to wait an additional hour in pixie hollow because i was waiting for rosetta and iridessa and I had just missed them.

Thanks for the fairy update. I'm really hoping to see them without a super long wait!
One ?? OT but are there different rope drop areas for MK...I thought it was all one place? Are there just different areas of interest within the big crowd or what :confused3

DH took the kids(a 2,4 & 5yr old on his own!) to see the fairies on the 8th and he said the wait times were about 2hrs in the late afternoon. He did get some pixie dust and was able to see the fairies and said it was amazing and that the fairies were all over the place and interacting with the kids and it was very different from the usual meet n greets where they all stay in the characters assigned spot. He was very excited about the whole thing (might have something to do with those skimpy outfits..hmm ;) ) and the kids were over the top excited about meeting the fairies. I hope the photopass pics come out well.

Toontown doesn't open at the same time as the rest of the park so it is roped off until it opens. So ppl line up for the rope drop there.
HTH!

Sis and I saw Tinkerbell on Sunday. The wait was an hour. Once in the room we did feel rushed but we got pictures. I dont know who the other 2 faries were. But they were all ver plesent.

I had been determined to get to the fairies first thing in the morning. We were there last Tuesday and got to the park at 9. I fast paced it right to Toontown and it was already open! I panicked! So we got into the line for the fairies...10 minute wait! There was only one family in front of us! It was such a cute experience too, and I had so much fun with Tink. I told her that I was her for Halloween and she asked me what happened to my wings, and when I told her I was able to detach them she got wide eyed and said to Rosetta, "This is flitterific! Have you ever heard of a fairy with detachable wings?? So cool!!!" She was so authentic and adorable!!

Here's one of the many pictures they took with photopass. They had to have taken about 20 photos!!

The interaction with the fairies is wonderful. We were asked what kind of fairied we were - and being from up north, we said Frost Fairies. Tink wanted to know all about making icicles stick to things.... It was pretty funny.
