Pixie dust...

My question is do we leave our room number or family name on any Pixie dust items we are handing out. I say no because I am not doing it for a thank you, however.. I would probably like to thank or return the gesture if some one pixie dusted our family..

We were pixie dusted on our last cruise and some items had room number/family name on and some didn't. I thanked those I knew and couldn't thank those I didn't. Personally, if somebody gives me a gift, no matter how big or small, I would like to be able to thank them in person so I vote 'yes', put your room number/family name on it.

The original intent of Fish Extender gifting was anonymous (surprises). Hence, "pixie dust". It's up to you whether you put your name/room number on the gifts. Some do, some don't. I don't.

I thought the rules were changing on FE's? Is that different than "pixie dust"?

I've not heard that pixie dusting is a different process. Well, in my experience, for example, people sign up for FE groups. Sometimes there are so many people that the whole group breaks out into smaller groups (so everyone doesn't have to give massive amounts of gifts). Some people in one of the groups may decide to go ahead and gift everyone (all groups) - that's pixie dusting. Or someone who gives gifts that isn't even on the FE list - that's pixie dusting.

There are really no set rules for FE groups. Each group sets up whatever "rules" they want - how many gifts; price; delivery days; whatever. Many groups just say "do what you want".

I plan on doing some pixie dusting, although we are not in a FE group. I don't care if I am thanked or not, as the fun is in the "dusting." My items are small Disney items we have been accumulating for a year, for what I hope I can tell are children's fish extenders. But since we don't want anything in return, no one should be disappointed, right?!!!! My grandson has a fish extender we grandparents plan on secretly putting surprises in ourselves, and hope he believes in the magic.

I included our name on the gifts for our FE group, but did not on our pixie dust items. There were a few people on our cruise that had missed the cutoff to be a part of the FE groups so I dropped extra magnets and candy off at their rooms.
