Pixie Dust, Princess Magic and Christmas Cheer!Trip report Day 1

It's finally here, today is the day!! I can't believe how long and short it seems since I first started planning this trip. I'm just so thankful that GenevaClaire's health has improved and she can go:) She's up right now watching some playhouse Disney and I'm playing around on the computer before I jump in the shower.

almost there:) we're in the air somewhere between NC and orlando but I think we've got about 30 or 40 minutes till we land. Some bumps but nothing too bad:) GenevaClaire is doing really well with the flight--she did an excellent job going thru the loooooooooong security line (our airport is doing construction and we only have one security gate functioning)
thanks to google I found a free wifi code for airtran so I'm able to DIS in the air

hopefully I'll check in again soon!

rain rain go away :scared1:well it's been a fantastic few days today has been rain since we got up, not just a sprinkle but a soaker day but we didn't let it stop us we were at Epcot at 7:45 for Princess Storybook breakfast and a yummy dinner at Coral Reef:lovestruc we finally became too soggy and headed out of Epcot at 6:30 so we didn't let the rain stop us, lol. Tons of amazing things to tell everyone--we had some amazing pixie dust at Animal Kingdom:wizard: but GenevaClaire wants to get on the computer now--so I'm off to email the grands, upload some pics and let her play

Oh yuck at the rain, but at least you've only had one day of it! And it sounds as though you made the best of it! So glad you all are having a good time and got some pixie dust, can't wait to hear about it :)

we're home :) It's crazy around here, but as soon as I get everything settled in with little miss GC and the house I'll get some pics uploaded to the computer and start our trip report!!!

Woohoo..I can't wait to hear all about the trip, I hope you guys had a fabulous time in spite of the rain!! Welcome home!

I'm almost done with laundry, putting away stuff and getting the house ready for the Christmas tree:thumbsup2 so I thought I would start our trip report princess:

Day 1--Tuesday Dec 1st--take off and in the air

We left NC mid morning, my mom drove us to the airport since my Dad was at work. We had waaaaay too much luggage, but we managed to get it all into the airport. I had already checked in the night before, so all I had to do was the checked luggage. Good thing, since our little town's airport, is undergoing renovations, there was only ONE security gate open. The line took FOREVER.:confused3 Geneva was really nervous at first about security, she didn't utter a peep for almost 45 minutes in line. The older couple behind us kept saying how well behaved and quiet she was. Little did they know it was pure fear that kept my bubbly little girl quiet and standing still for so long. We finally get thru security and to the boarding gate, we only had to wait briefly before they called boarding on our flight, which really turned out to be for the best. We loaded all of us and all of our carry on's---which I think is a miracle, lol. Gate checked the stroller and we were off to our seats. GenevaClaire chose the window seat:eek:but we didn't argue with her, we let her have the seat, with her Daddy in the middle and me on the aisle. She was enthralled with the window shade and proceeded to open and close it about a million times before we took off:lmao: She got Lamby(he's very well loved, worn, ragged and is her comfort and best buddy) out of her bag and sat back waiting for the plane to take off and she loved it, she thought it was really cool (and I was sooooo very happy that she didn't freak out or have a panic attack) Her and Daddy talked about all the things we were seeing in the air as we left home bound for warm and sunny Orlando ( or so I thought;))

Sorry it took me a day or two to get back.. Ok so we're off the airplane and headed to Magical Express :) We checked our own luggage, I was nervous that our bags wouldn't make it to the hotel, lol. So we headed over to pick up our luggage and then over to the DME desk to check in. The lines weren't very long, we waited about 10 minutes and then loaded on to the bus. GenevaClaire was shocked to find out that she didn't have to sit in a car seat--she was getting tired, it was just about nap time for her.

We got to POP just a little while later and checked in with online check in--which was a breeze. But I think that there were only a few families checking in and there weren't any lines at the check in desk. You could see the beautiful christmas tree when you walked into the lobby. Sadly, I forgot to take a pic of it (too excited, lol)
Once we were checked in and headed over to the 80's building--we had a pool side view of the Computer pool, 3rd floor. GenevaClaire spotted the HUGE Mr&Mrs Potato heads so we dropped the luggage and headed out to Classic Hall for a late lunch and to visit with the spuds for a minute :) The weather was fantastic--sunny, warm and sooooo nice, since we'd left NC and it was in the30's and the 40's and headed much lower, brrrrrr.

Classic Hall was pretty quiet, early afternoon so everyone was out at the parks. Food was ok, nothing great. So after we ate we headed back to the room to get ready to go to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. We got a much later start than what I wanted for the party--but I didn't want to overwhelm GenevaClaire or Ben:rotfl: Not to mention that GenevaClaire told me about a million times that she wanted to go swimming and not go to MVMCP But we all got ready (finally) and headed over to the bus stop--the walk there wasn't too bad, it wasn't super close, but it wasn't a major hike either, plus we had the stroller for GenevaClaire. I left out of the hotel wearing jeans and by the time we got to the Magic kingdom I was ready for shorts and short sleeves...

next up my yucky, blurry pics of MVMCP--I'm so sad that they didn't turn out, but I didn't take a tripod, didn't take my bounce flash, my reasoning--I wouldn't want to carry around all the extra equipment, along with all the other things I was carrying around for GenevaClaire and us. BIG MISTAKE. I'm sad, so sad. Lesson learned. so stay tuned for the MVMCP update :santa:

What a great start! So happy for you that GenevaClaire was fine with the plane ride! Hoping she changed her mind about swimming once she got to MVMCP and the fun started!

Well we interrupt this Trip Report with a weather bulletin

mickeyminniesnow.jpg

It started sleeting this morning around 5:30 and turned to snow by 8 am and it's really coming down...

we're supposed to get up to 14" today, tonight and tomorrow of SNOW!! We NEVER get this much snow, maybe 3 to 6" but not this much:eek: So the last day of school was a snow day for the GenevaClaire---so we're going to play in the snow, finish decorating for Santa, bake some cookies and I'm hopefully going to start editing all of my photos

You know I never realized you were in NC until you were talking about the snow!! It's moving this way, supposed to start after lunch sometime, with a total expected accumulation of...10 TO 18 !!!! inches! We're in the same boat as you are, Piper did her last homebound schooling session last night, we're going to town this am to pick up some milk & stuff, then we're going to snuggle in, try to stay warm and dry, and make soap..work on my envelopes, wrapping presents, etc. We might get this much snow once every 3 yrs, and never in December! Piper is thrilled!

WOW we get sideswiped by the Snow of 09---no power for 5 days, no water, no phone, nada, nothing but SNOW. We had Gas logs at my mom's for heat and heating up foods--it was a seriously CRAZY time! We lost some seriously BIG trees to the snow too, around 12 tree's fell on our property and the main rd to our house was completely blocked with downed tress for about a 1 1/2 miles. I had lots of time to think and plan our next trip to WARM and SUNNY Disney, lol. Then we get power back and it's rush out and finish up Christmas stuff on Christmas eve:scared1: but the crowds were ok, nothing insane and we got everything that we needed! GenevaClaire had a fantastic Christmas, even though it was kind of chaotic from the time we got home till then

Our total final snow fall inches--18"

here's a few pic's
