Pixie Dust, Princess Magic and Christmas Cheer!Trip report Day 1

ok I promised pics of the goodies I've been Collecting GenevaClaire for the trip--I didn't realize how much stuff I had collected:laughing: so it took three sets of pics to get everything where you could see it--there is no way she'll get all of this during the trip. So some will be for stocking stuffers, some for the "birthday fairy" to leave her in January. Everything was either on clearance, Target dollar spot, Dollar Tree or Dollar General--

This is the little tiny tree I found at Dollar General for our resort room--it's fiber optic so no need to have extra lights--and since our whole theme is princess--the silver, purple and green ornaments. I'm working on some little crowns and glass slipper ornaments for it--those will be a surprise for GenevaClaire :santa: And hopefully a tree skirt, but that will depend on how much time I have to get it done. The little tree was 3.00 at Dollar general and the ornaments came from dollar tree, so 1.00 each :)

toooooo excited. I started this trip report at 153 days out and it seems like I just started it last month:laughing: of course the last minute beach trip, school starting for GenevaClaire, me getting sick the 1st time, then GenevaClaire and I getting H1N1, now Halloween WOW ---sure does make the time fly by:laughing:

As we speak the most talented seamtress in the world of Etsy, Tinkerella, is creating a Winter Parade version of Princess Aurora's Dress for GenevaClaire to wear princess: I can't wait to see it, GenevaClaire has no idea, well maybe a little but she doesn't really understand... It's velvet, satin and fur :santa: This will be her BBB dress and hopefully if we can get some pixie dust the dress she will wear to the Disney Girl Princess Tea Party. The dress will ship out of CA on Nov 5th or before--so I can't wait to see it on GenevaClaire!princess:
My mom is doing some custom stuff for GenevaClaire
A special trip backpack--is going to be pink/white polka dots or black and white polka dots with princess appliques from the wonderful Heather Sue here on the DISboard. Her work is amazing

quite a few little dresses and applique shirts, lol. This child will have so many clothes packed that it will be her bag that gets checked at the airport with an overweight limit charge, lol

Seriously though, I'm already getting the stuff together. I have a section of our walk in closet designated for Disney clothes, shoes, etc. I also have a box of toiletry/medical items that I'm putting together to ship ahead to POP.
I have the goodies for GenveaClaire hidden, so I'm going to seperate them into trip backpack, tink and princess gifts and the rest will be saved till Christmas and Birthday Fairy time. Just need to pick up some gift bags and tissue paper for the tink/princess gifts.princess: Those will be shipped ahead to the resort to keep her from snooping:rolleyes1

I'm nervous, there is so much to remember, do, buy, get together, create, pack, ship---that I'm starting to panic:scared1: It's soooo close, I wonder how fast this time is going to fly by????

Still worried about the touring planning--I'm overthinking it.... But I'm worried, but we'll take it a little bit at a time and if she starts to get overloaded then we'll change the plan regardless of what the plan is. This trip is for her, and I'm not going to have her freaked out and upset just because of a touring plan has us everywhere and not enjoying it.

Veronica and GenevaClaireprincess:

You've only got 1 month...it's gonna FLY! DD says to start packin' now 'cause it'll sneak up on you.
We're down to just a bit of coughing...no fevers, and most of the lethargy is gone. We're starting to feel like ourselves again. :goodvibes
DS is still scheduled to get his vaccine because he only had minimal symptoms and we want to be sure he's got immunity building up. They're doing them at the elementary schools here.
I'm glad she's only getting the cruddy germies and nothing too serious. Maybe she'll build a bit of immunity and not get it.
Our schools are germ factories too. :rotfl2: We had a sub for the health assistant today and she "strongly suggested" that I come get Mikayla today since she has a headache and nausea. (Ummm already had the nasty bug...not gettin' it again or passin' it around.) Now, she's here instead of at school and I'm making her do as much of her absentee work as we can and she's going back again tomorrow.

Enjoying your PTR! Looks like we'll be at Pop at the same time. I'll be there with a friend, her DH and my oldest DD(10) 11/30 to 12/7.

Your Christmas tree is so cute!

Your DD is just adorable!

:cool1:I am getting sooooo nervous too! I can't believe we are so close!

Looks like GenevaClaire has a LOT of disney loot!

I have been picking up random toiletry and ect items everytime we go to Target or Walmart and I just did an inventory the other night of what we had and what we needed to get....Dave still thinks I am crazy! His vacation starts the day before Thanksgiving but I still have to work through the 30th. He doesn't know it but he will have a few to do lists left for him while I am at work!:rotfl:

I love the tree you got. I have been looking for something Disney themed....I also wanted a wreath on our door...3 circle ones to make a mickey head....but I haven't found ones the right size. I hope I can hit the jackpot today at the Dollar store!

I am currently trying to supress the urge to get out my suitcases now! I could at least pack the summer clothes right?

We are almost to the 20s!!!!!!

awww I love her halloween costume! Those pics are too cute. If you can't find the green wreaths use the styro wreaths and wrap with greenery. Those should be easy to find in the small and medium to make the mickey head.

Just thinking outloud about the stuff we want to make sure we do

Tiana's Liberty boat show since it won't be around forever

Campfire sing along and movie at Fort Wilderness

Movie and campfire on the beach at the GF? ( I think, that's the one)

My Disney girl tea party for all of us (dh is soooo thrilled he gets to wear a pink shirt, lol, but all for the love he has for his princess)

Downtown disney for Mr Potato head boxes and --one for GenevaClaire and one for my nephew Hayden and if the Disney Dollar depot is still there then we're going to pick up something small for each of the kids in GenevaClaire's class--but we'll have to wait and see about that one.

Some sort of kids club for GenevaClaire, but we'll have to be at the location, just in case, so I'm not sure yet about it...I just know that she'll want to play with other kids and the opportunity won't be there unless we make it happen for her

Playing at the playgrounds--yes it's a requirement for my DD, she has to visit a playground, lol. So we'll do a playground tour of Disney, lol.

The petting zoo and pony rides at Fort Wilderness

Touring the resorts and enjoying all the holiday decorations.

Behind the seeds tour at Epcot, GenevaClaire loves to help in the garden and has planted her own flower garden from seeds since she was 2 and helped in our big family garden from planting to harvesting, So she was excited when I told her about it and wants to see how they grow the veggies, the fish, etc where Mickey lives.

Sleigh ride--again I think this is at Fort Wilderness? I need to find out for sure and see if I need to book in advance.

The santa/holiday storytellers in Epcot

The pearl people in Japan, I've ordered both her and I a pearl cage that's a cinderella coach :) It's a surprise for her, she always wants "big girl" jewelry so now I just need to find her and I both a silver chain to wear it with:lovestruc

The mexican ring carver in Epcot for a few christmas presents.:santa:

The playhouse disney dance party on the EMH night at DHS

Family Photo shoot at the Grand Floridian

hanging out and really taking our time at Animal kingdom, since GenevaClaire isn't old enough for the behind the scenes tour to see the animal hospital, she's sad. she keeps telling me that she wants to be a vet when she grows up:hug:

and the MVMCP's :santa:

I'm sure I'm forgetting something outside of the regular touring stuff for the parks and the character dining--but I've got a million lists written down so hopefully one of them will have everything on it, lol.

I've only been planning this for months and months, and now I just am overwhelmed... sigh.

(ok, I've been procrastinating long enough, school is out tomorrow and the house is wreck, so I'm off to get it picked up and ready for another day)

You can often see the vets at Rafiki's Planetwatch. There is a window to see into an operating room-might be too much for your DD depending on what they are doing.

oh cool--she'll love that. She's all too familiar with dr's offices, blood, cutting, procedures--she even watches the vet shows with me on Animal planet and is completely cool with it, she even says what the vet should be doing to help the animal, lol. But we'll check just to make sure before she looks in the window just in case:eek:

well I think I jinxed GenevaClaire's health when I said all was well since H1N1--
Sunday night she started screaming her ear was hurting (she's never ever had an earache) so I knew something was up--Got up monday morning, called the doc's office they couldn't see her till late in the afternoon, so she gets up from her nap and her eye is seriously red and weepy. Fast forward to the doc appt--she has a serious ear infection, conjuctivitis (aka Pink eye) an upper respiratory infection and her throat was super red, but he didn't test for strep, just put her on antibiotics:scared1: This morning it sounds like she has croup, a very high pitch seal bark:scared1::scared1:
sooooo I'm freaking out, we're in the 20's and she's this sick--I have tried to think of the positive though, perhaps if she gets it all out of the way now, then by the time she gets to Disney then she will have had all the germies and not get sick there:sad1::sad2:

Veronica

Poor kid! Hope the meds kick in quickly and she's feeling better soon!!!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

There is so much going through the schools here. My DD was sick a week ago so I'm hoping she's already had it and dosen't get sick for our trip in 4 weeks.

well GenevaClaire's eye looks much better, she's still coughing her head off but at least it's some improvement. We spent the day resting, talking about Disney, watching the Disney trip planning movie, lol. We even sat down and went thru her autograph cards (thanks to the awesome natalie on the Disigns board) that I had printed thru artscow--:santa: Finally got email notification that the Holidays around the world Epcot passport book was shipped today too!:cool1: so hopefully it will be here in the next two weeks. I just need to make her MVMCP autograph cards and have those printed up and we should have the character autograph cards taken care of for the trip.
****We also measured GenevaClaire, she wanted to know if she was tall enough to ride some of the rides and with shoes on she's 40 inches tall!!!!!!!!!! :yay::woohoo::yay:

Oh wow! You guys have been busy busy. So glad she's starting to feel better..I would have reacted the same way you did about Geneva Claire's ear..Piper's never had that problem either. Less than a month now very exciting!

Oh no! Good thing she is getting all of this sickness out of the way BEFORE the trip! Hope she gets feeling better soon!

I am so worried we are going to get H1N1 right before or during our trip.....one of the clinics here has the nasal mist but are only giving it to 2 to 4 year olds and persons in close contact with a baby under 6 months. It doesn't count that Amelia is almost 2. I am hoping they get the injection in enough time before our trip for her to build up an immunity. If not I will be a sanitizing fool during the trip!

I can't believe we are in the 20s all ready. I am itching to start packing but I know I need to wait so I make those last 4 days after Thanksgiving fly by packing everything!

Did you know there are only 3 Tuesdays left before we leave? Kinda makes it seem closer!

we got happy mail this weekend :) Our trip packet came:cool1: We were lucky and got the photopass card to register in advance, so I'm hoping that I get the preorder code for 99.00--We got the Magical Express packet last weekend :) So we're all set :banana:
It's a good thing we had some happy stuff since DH and GenevaClaire have both had Strep throat, ear infections and pink eye and RSV-- UGH. She was out of school all last week and is out today because she is needing her rescue inhaler waaaaay too much to send her to school, so maybe tomorrow??:scared1:
I'm off to work in the house and get it decluttered and cleaned up, it feels like It hasn't been "truly together" since the end of August when I got sick the first time after we got back from Folly Beach--it's crazy I've been sick since Aug 25th almost non stop. So Dh requested that the house be "spotless" prior to our departure on Dec 1st, and since Thanksgiving is at my house it will have to be, lol. I plan on putting up our Tree the day after thanksgiving so we can enjoy it a few days before we fly out to Disney and then when we get back it will be all decorated :santa::santa:
I've got the touring plans laid out for ea day and I'm thinking about adding the Pirate league to the schedule for GenevaClaire--it's a really good deal at 50% off and then us doing the Pirate Pals fireworks cruise. She saw the pics of the pirate league makeover and the pirate pal's cruise pics and said she wanted to go... I'm going to think about it a few days before I actually book either one:)
I'm expecting more happy mail today--GenevaClaire's Winter aurora dress that I had made should be here today, at the latest tomorrow and her Holidays Around the world passport book from Arts Cow should be here this week too ( I hope)
Soooo, I need to quit procrastinating and get busy!

WOW WOW WOW 2 weeks and 6 days! :santa::santa::santa: GenevaClaire went back to school yesterday, today it's a school Holiday for veterans day--still coughing but only when she gets too hot and active or when she first wakes up. DH is feeling better too! Booked the Pirates League makeover for GenevaClaire yesterday, but I think I'm going to have to rebook it for a night that wishes is showing at 8pm, so we can do the pirate and pals fireworks cruise? But we may wait to see how the fireworks and GenevaClaire actually work out, I'd hate to get her out on boat with no way to escape the sounds if they overwhelm her.

We've been up all night, GenevaClaire's lungs are having issues, we are headed to an early morning appt at the ped's office and hopefully just have to get steroids, but we may have a stay at Club med coming. Prayers please. we're leaving here at 6:30 to make the 1st sick appt.

I've been reading your trip report, since we will be there at the same time, but I have not posted yet.

I just want to say that I hope everything goes well for you today and I'm sorry to read that you guys have all been so sick lately. I hope you will all be well again on time to enjoy your vacation.

Thank you Carrie! I'm praying for all of us to be well!

Just a quick update--GenevaClaire is on some serious steroid medication for her lungs now--she goes back to the pulmo doc on wed--hopefully we'll get an all clear instead of a trip to Club med :( we're fast approaching two weeks away from the trip :santa:
