Pixie Dust, Princess Magic and Christmas Cheer!Trip report Day 1

Here is another one of my favorite pics that didn't include GenevaClaire :)
This is Angel Oak in Charleston---played around with some Photoshop and thought this looked kind of neat

ALMOST TIME FOR ADRs!:dance3:

Just found your PTR, wow, what a remarkable story your little girl has. Quite the fighter and so very deserving to meet the princesses. I hope you have a very magical trip and I am along for the ride.

ok so I was a bundle of nerves this morning--I started playing around about
5:40 a.m EST and I was able to make Reservations--so I'm not sure if it was a fluke or what but I did make reservations with confirmation numbers BEFORE 6:01 a.m--just a heads up....

soooo not everything worked out for the specific days but I did get all the ressies I wanted just some of them got moved around---no biggieI did have to pay for the CRT even though we're on the DXDP--so I've got to find out about how I'm going to be refunded for the amt, if it's going to be in advance or during the trip. I've heard here on the boards that both have happened in the past.....

I just had the BEST CM agent, SaintMichael, when booking GenevaClaire's BBB appt--We started talking about our trip and why/what we were celebrating--I told her that my preemie princess was going to meet the Disney princesses--well she was sooo kind and told me that she was going to the castle no matter what time or when I wanted, she had earned it princess: So she came up with an
8am reservation right before our CRT breakfast--now I know what everyone means about pixie dust I tried to explain my excitement to my DH and my mom, but no one got how cool it was that she made that appt happen when my chances were really slim... so thank you to the CM's who really do spread the pixie dust and love to all of usprincess:

wow I feel like I'm talking to myself... if you're out there reading this I'd love to hear from you. It's kind of lonely and sad if no one is playing along :sad2:

anyway I just finished up part of my Trip binder and wanted to share--I got the notebook at Walmart on sale for 2.50--I don't think the tiny white dots are showing up well in the photograph but it's a tiny white dot print. I designed and cut the Disney09 and the Mickey mouse ears using my Silhouette cutter from black vinyl.

I'm still here! Sorry I forget to reply most of the time but I am still reading what you are saying!

Love the new binder....that is so cool about the BBB reservation. GenevaClaire will look great for the princesses!

I have been playing around with our reservations too. I just found cheeper flight tickets so it looks like we might be flying instead of driving! We might add on a few days to the begining....probably at a value.

Which night are you planning on doing MVMCP? (I am assuming it got moved because of moved reservations?)

We were not going to go because of everything else we were doing and I didn't know if Amelia would enjoy it or not but if we fly and get the 2 extra days in the begining we will do MVMCP on the 2nd or maybe the 1st depending on our flight on the 1st.

Oh yeah....I did my dance for getting to the 70's today....did you?:dance3:

Thanks! I like it, I'm working on the inner pages and using some awesome designs I found over on the DISign forum and some that I'm making of my own. Totally did a happy dance today--79 days and counting! That would be great if you guys got to fly, do you have AirTran out of your airport? We just got Airtran one way flights this Spring to MCO--and dirt cheap flights, 59.00 there and 59.00 back, plus I got to use the sunshine 25.00 coupons for each of us so we saved 75.00 total. I'd check and see if you have an airtran or allegiant airport near by, could save alot of money.
We're doing MVMCP two nights, the 1st and the 3rd. I know it sounds crazy but GenevaClaire will tire out really quickly so she won't be able to make it thru everything she wants to do in one night without overloading, so we're doing it two nights so she can see/do all that she wants too. I even considered adding a 3rd MVMCP night (yes, I've officially lost my mind) but I'll have to see where the budget stands once I pay off the trip in October.

Are you renting a stroller at WDW? or are you taking your own?

The flights I am looking at are through airtran....on Expedia. I might book them through Orbitz if available because I know I will get my money back if the flights become cheeper.

WOW 2 MVMCPs......I totally understand about pushing the kid to do everything she wants. That is why we originally were not going to do MVMCP. I don't know how she will do in the evenings.

I am taking my own stroller. I think we will still need one around the resort, at DTD, and in the airport. When we get in crowds and we don't have a stroller with us Amelia wants to be carried......she is big for her age....almost 30lbs.....I want to save my back!

Wow she weighs almost as much as GenevaClaire--she only weighs 34 lbs. I'm renting a stroller from one of the local places in Orlando as of right now, unless I get lucky and find one on sale on the internet or at a local consignment store.

I got our stroller last winter (after my big one that the carseat attached to would no longer fold up...something broke!). I got it on the clearance rack at babies R us.....I believe a newer model was comming out. Watch for those kind of sales too! It is what I call a "midsize stroller".....larger than an umbrella with a shade and some storage and it does recline pretty well. It still folds up small like an umbrella stroller.

Have you looked at a stroller swap? I know somewhere...maybe the budget boards talks about them.

How much stuff do you need for GenevaClaire when you go to the parks? If it is not much then the park strollers are actually pretty nice.

I'll definitely check into the sales, we have a jogging stroller for here, but it's huge when you fold it up, and no way can we lug in on the plane and keep up with GC too. All the stroller swaps are full :( I tried the fridge swaps too, but then I found out that because of GC's meds that we will be able to get the fridge thru Disney Resorts at a discounted cost or possibly free-
I don't think the Disney strollers will work--I do have to carry alot of stuff around, and depending on which meds she's on or if she's getting nebulizer treatments then i'll have to lug it around plus her feeding tube stuff--so we'll definitely need room and I'm scared someone would hijack the Disney stroller and we'd lose her meds, nebulizer, the whole nine yards...it's a scary thought--I wonder if I need to put those in a locker for ea park we visit to be safe?

You might look into seeing if the first aid stations in the parks can hold things like that. I thought I remember seeing somewhere that they would hold medication for people in the park. If not I would definately rent a locker. I plan on leaving suff with our stroller when we ride rides....but my stuff would only slightly inconvience us if we lost it (diapers, wipes, snacks, maybe some toys and change of clothes). Your stuff would be a huge inconvience if lost. I would take it and to put in a locker and then if you needed it it would be there.....no stress on you about loosing something or not having something you need when you need it.

I remember reading that if you had meds that needed to be refridgerated you would get a fridge for fee.

Will you have to take those meds to the parks?

not all of her meds will need to come in to the park--and I'm going to definitely check in to see if First aid can keep her stuff, if not then I'll just rent a locker in ea park, to keep the stuff handy if we need it.
