DD was sexually attacked last night by a taxi driver who was taking her home from a friends 21st birthday party. He pulled into a layby and started touching her, luckily it didn't go any further. We called the police early this morning and they have just been back to take a full statement. The infuriating thing is its his word against Beccies so he will probably get away with it and more so keep his job as a taxi driver being allowed to carry on picking more young girls up

This is awful, it makes me really angry that people like that can get away with it. He deserves to be strung up by his you know whats!!!!

Hi - what a dreadful thing to have happened - I hope your duaghter is ok.

One on one allegations can be difficult to persue, but the police will look at all the options.
From a professional point of view, if there are any suggestions that this has happened before this will strengthen your case.
We would inform the licencing officers at the council who deal with the taxi drivers and he could well lose his job - this is what i would be pushing for.
If she feels she needs to talk, i have always found that Victim Support are very good - the provide a great sounding board and wil point her in a different direction if necessary for further advice/support.

I am so sorry - as katiec says you should contact the licensing department of your local council - to see if anything can be done about his licence and to put some pressure on the taxi company.

So sorry your having to go through this.

Thats awful, she must have been absolutely terrified, I'm so sorry this has happened. I get taxis alone often after a night out and find it pretty horrific that this man might be allowed to continue to operate the way he has. I've used the same taxi company since I was a little girl and the drivers usually even watch to make sure I get in the door alright before they pull away - it still makes you worry though when you hear things like this. I hope that he gets his license taken away or better still locked up and that your daughter will get the support she needs. for her and you.

How awful for your daughter. I am pretty sure that his license will be suspended while he is investigated. The council can't afford to let a taxi driver operate while this sort of allegation is being investigated - I would do what other have suggested and take it up with them. It is horrific that someone with this job could continue working, putting lone females at tremendous risk.

I hope he gets what he deserves for this.

Thank you for your comments i will wait to hear from the police then i will take it up with the council about his licence. It could quite easily have been a rape charge so i suppose we have to be gratefull for that. I am telling as many people i know with young girls about it so hopefully they won't use the company.

So sorry to hear about your daughter hope she is ok a run self defense classes this sounds stupid but we tell young girls if they have to get in a car by them self’s taxi or friend car when you get picked up phone someone and tell them who has picked you up and how long it’s going to take.
I hope this scumbag gets locked up or worse and that your daughter will get the support she needs
