Just returned from a quick trip with DS11 (a special mom and son Valentine's Day trip
). We couldn't believe how much more we accomplished with just the 2 of us. We had a fabulous time - 3 parks in 3 days.
A major highlight the first day (Saturday, the 12th) - we got to MK at opening, watched the character greeting and took off down Main Street for Tomorrowland. WE used the shortcut through the Plaza Pavilion and got stopped by another rope! It dropped in a minute or two and we were off to Buzz. We were the first riders of the day and DS got 805,975 points!!! His highest score ever. What a way to start the day.
Our 2nd highlight occurred on our last day, Valentine's Day. We were at AK from 9 - 1, then dropped some stuff back at the GF (I was secretly hoping DS was done for the day but we hadn't done Splash yet). "Let's get to the MK, Mom!" Drat. So off to MK - we took the train directly to Splash (a great tip by the way) and then we saw it - 90 minute wait! It was 2:15 and FP was foe between 4 and 5. I told him I couldn't wait in line for 90 minutes so we'd get a FP - he VERY reluctantly agreed. Then I thought maybe we should just come back in the evening after dinner but had forgotten what time MK closed that day. So I saw a CM standing nearby and asked him. He was so cheerful, answered my question and asked if there was anything else he could do for me. I said no, we were thinking of coming back later since I didn't want to wait 90 minutes. "So you haven't ridden Splash yet?"he asked. I told him it was our last day and our last "must-do". He motioned me over to the side and said maybe he could help me out. He took out a litle pad of "passes", filled it out and told us to hop in the FP line and we'd be on in 15 minutes! Yahoo! We thanked him profusely and he told my son to "take care of your mom today - it's Valentine's Day!" What a sweetie - it made our day! So thanks Kevin! Splash was never better!
