There is something magical about the Magic Kingdom at Christmas -- not to mention seeing those awesome new icicle-like lights on the Castle! Cloud nine is right!

I love the GF at Christmas -- and that gingerbread house -- and the smell of that gingerbread house. Mmmmm!

They picked France, I picked Citrico's. I've thought about changing my mind, but I won't. It just makes sense. Magic Kingdom, see the Monorail Resorts decorated, fantastic dinner.

:::sigh:::

It doesn't get much better than this...

But it does...

because on our last day, we're going to........

You are SUCH a tease! ;) Citricos has never been on my radar but it is now! And I agree, MK in its holiday finery is not to be missed!!

That smell is going to be like Christmas heaven.

Oh, Citrico's is a wonderful place to eat. It really is. :thumbsup2

There's a LONG story behind why we love Alfredo's, and the waiters, and the atmosphere so much. And so far, I can't bring myself to set foot in Tutto Italia. In addition to the menu not being appealing. And being married to Italian husband. And being part Italian myself. With a lot of chefs in the family, it's just not something I want to eat on vacation, especially when it's not Alfredo's.

:::sigh:::

I was spoiled by Alfredo's. :cloud9:

I feel the same way, and haven't been able to bring myself to eat at the new place. Luckily my office is 1 block away from Alfredo's NYC. My mom took my dad and I for our birthdays last month. It was heavenly!

Have you ever tried any of the gingerbread for sale there? I have always wondered if it is as good as it smells?

If I have, I don't remember it at all. I'm really looking forward to bringing some home, I love gingerbread!

You are so close to your trip! Is DS still excited?

Yes, HRH, is very, very excited. If you ask him where he's going in December, he'll tell you, "Disney World!"

Okay TK, I would go with the smaller hoodie as long as it is still somewhat comfy and doesn't feel too tight---just a closer fit to the body---that will ALWAYS be more flattering than something bigger and bulkier. Just my opinion though!

I love the castle with the new lights---so beautiful, especially when they keep changing the color of the light reflected on the castle too!!! You get to see SO many different looks for the castle!!!

Guess what I found out yesterday after my whole big post? Those hoodies are 80% cotton. Which means in all likelihood, they'll shrink in the dryer. Now, although I don't intend to put them in the dryer regularly, because if you're kind to your clothes they last longer, I said, let me just take this bigger size, wash it, and see if it shrinks. I haven't tried it on yet, but I'm sure it'll be part of my next update.

Oooo...it sounds so pretty!

December 9, 2008

Also known as the last day of three ladies and HRH taking on the World. Now let's just jump in shall we?

Mom was able to score great return flights, so we're not due to leave Orlando until 3:00pm. Which gives us plenty of time to partake in something that was...ahem...totally my idea.

And...ahem...totally geared toward the little nut. Or, his royal highness, as we are want to call him in this pre trip report.

What exactly do you do with a three year old the morning before you bid adieu to the World when you're staying at the Yacht Club...

in close proximity to the Beach Club...

who sees where I'm going with this? ;)

To Cape May Cafe, my friends! For a lovely breakfast, with character. And who's more excited than me that Donald has been added to the line up? Now some of you may now that I have a little history with the Cape May Cafe breakfast in the way of a ruckus between my husband, myself, and Chip. So there are some fond memories there for sure!

Our breakfast is at 1020. Not too early that we'll be tired from the night before, and plenty of time to get ourselves situated with our luggage and everything and be ready to leave, you know?

So that's it, dear readers. My little jaunt to Disney in December.

I couldn't look forward to it more, truthfully.

And still, if you ask HRH where he's going in December, the prompt reply is...

"Disney World!"

Yeay! I should probably know the answer to this already, but is Cape May the only character meal you are doing on this trip?

Yes! And it's so not something Mom and Nana would elect to do normally, but they're both very excited about it, because it's really for HRH.

ahem...and me...ahem

I am glad that they are so excited!

Aren't Disney trips supposed to be for us as well as the children? :rolleyes1

If there has to be a last day it sounds like you've planned a good one! I'm sure you'll love it.

I love the "shed-yule" by the way!!

We really wanted it to be something easy to do, and relatively relaxing. Given the resort we're staying in, I was surprised I hadn't thought of it sooner. When Mom and Nana agreed, I was so excited.

Well, we are very regal in our terminology. But when I was thinking about how to spell it phonetically, yule just seemed like a perfect fit. ;)

Well, truthfully, I had more than a thought, I have several.

Throughout the day.

And sometimes, they're good ones. ;)

TK's Brain - DH, DS, DH, DS, Disney Disney Disney, Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow, hey that's not a bad idea, Disney Disney Disney, DS, DH, DS, DH

So let's run with the whole hey that's not a bad idea thought.

Now I know this little trip is supposed to be my birthday present. And quite the lovely present it is. But part of me feels that although it's something special for me, I'd really like to make it something special for Mom and Nana, too. And HRH, of course. But really for Mom and Nana. And not that I don't love my little peanut, but my opportunities to spoil him are plenty.

Mom and Nana. Not so much.

So here are some of the things that have been kicking around in the old TK brain of late.

Gift Bags - obviously not prepared beforehand due to airport security, but something easily assembled in secret once there

Mom - "TK? You okay in the bathroom?"

TK - "Yeah, Mom. Just powdering my nose." :lmao:

Now I'm not sure exactly what I'll put in them, other than cute stuff I find / make, but one thing I'm pretty solid on would be some nice comfy slippers. For everyone, myself included. I think it would be fun for us all to have relatively similar tootsie relaxers when we get back to the room, and I know HRH will get a kick out of being like the adults.

Some Sort of Custom Made Something or Other - boy, that's real descriptive, huh? But seriously, you know how I did the custom menus, some people order custom desserts? Well, my mother doesn't have a big sweet tooth, but it would nice to have some sort of surprise for our first night, maybe tied in to dinner at the Brown Derby? Any suggestions, guys? Or any other night for that matter...I'm fairly certain you can get custom menus at Citrico's, I'll just have to snag a number for there...and probably soon.

Anyway, if you all have any other ideas on how I can make this a little special for my family, I'm open. :thumbsup2

Oooh! I love a good surprise! I am going to have think on it for you because I have no ideas at the moment. I think the tootsies idea is very cute. That's about all I have got because I can't think tonight.

I have faith in the power of LL's thinking cap. It's well lighted, what with all the love of light fixtures and everything! ;) Seriously, you've had some great ideas, so whatever you come up with feel free to post. :thumbsup2
