So we've talked about the ADRs, right. But until recently, I wasn't really allowing myself to get excited for this trip. I guess now that all my shopping purchases have fallen into place, and the fact that it's a few short weeks away have really upped the enthusiasm factor.
That and HRH won't stop talking about it.
As I was putting on his jams the other night, I said, "Honey...what do you want to do tomorrow?"
"I go Disneyworld December!!!" he cried with glee.
Then I had to explain that December wasn't tomorrow. It was a few weeks away. Poor kid.

But he knows he's going. And I think in that sense, the fact that we've had so much build up to it, and the fact that it's short, will make this trip a little bit easier than our Pirate's Life for Three. Because HRH has been there, done that, knows what to expect.
But not entirely. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees all the decorations and the lights. He talks about the lights, too. Not light fixtures, LL, but don't worry, we'll work him up to that.
And I'm really excited that Mom and Nana are indulging us in some fine fare. Because the best meal HRH ate on the last trip, no joke, was at a signature restaurant. So I'm excited for a few reasons, 1. that we've got some upscale dining in front of us and 2. that we're not on the dining plan. This enables us to order things to share with him, and not have him tied down to a children's menu. Which let's face it, can be downright disgusting.
So in my allowing myself to be excited about this trip, I also allowed myself to mosey on over to All Ears and take a look at the menus.
Oh.
My.
Royalness.
Have you seen what they have at some of the places we're eating?
Let's just say the excitement factor increased to mach 10.
Let's start with the Brown Derby, shall we? Now, for those of you following my trip report, you'll know why I love this restaurant. If you're not...why?

Just kidding! In all seriousness, it's easy for me to know what I want here. Cobb Salad, Grapefruit Cake. Lunch, dinner, doesn't matter, those are it for me. And we'll be there for dinner this time.
But what I didn't know is that Mom and Nana had "cooked" up a little surprise. See, I don't know if I've given full import to how well known Mom and Nana are in Disney. At specific restaurants. Let's just say that managers / waitstaff / cast members remember them. Often by name. And are more than willing to accomodate them. Because they're lovely, and they're ladies, (NoLesMis) and they really appreciate good service. Savvy?
So, let's just say that they have special ordered something for us that is not even on the menu. Not even available to other guests.
Do I feel SPOILED or what?
I bet you're all dying to know what it is, huh? Now, I must admit, I am a little nervous, given that I used to love this dish, and over the years I've grown more and more lactose intolerant. Perhaps I'll need to take something, because specially prepared for us that evening will be the famous Brown Derby oyster brie soup.
Yum.
Yum.
Yum.
I haven't had it in years. Like I said, it's seasonal, and usually not on the menu. And it's not on the menu now. But Mom and Nana pulled the proverbial strings when they were there in October, and special ordered it for December.
Just call me a
And a
all rolled into one.
