Oh man... I'm so sorry about the conflicting feelings, TK.

You will be buying a junky apple.....in fact you need to buy two! Because I said so!!! This is what you do....bring a gallon size zip lock (or 2)with you. Put junky apples in ziplock bag...hide in your park bag. Then when you get back to the room put your junky apples in the tupperware-like container that you brought with you just for this purpose. When it's time to leave, pack your junky apple container in your carry-on. Then when you get home you can hide in your closet one night and eat it (them)!

Thanks, hon. I had a phone call with Mom and we discussed some things, so I'm feeling a bit better now.

Heidi, I love you so much right now. So, so much. That is SUCH a good idea, it's not even funny. I really need to start a packing list, and those are going right on it. I always have Ziploc bags, anyway, just in case DS has an accident (hasn't happened in months, but I like to be prepared), then I have somewhere to quarantine his clothes if need be.

My relatives who live in the Palm Beach area of Florida called us this weekend and were complaining about the temps in the 40's. I guess I would be too if I was in Florida, but this weekend 40's were sounding pretty good to me.

I think your going to have to be prepared for anything.

You know what irks me to a certain extent? Not that I'm not grateful to be going, I am.

The fact that I think we'll be packing more for this trip than we did for the last one, and it's half the time!

I know I"m going to need layers and options and all sorts of whatnot, for me and DS. I think during his nap today I'm going to buck down and work on a packing list.

 Tk, sorry you were torn about the trip... I know what that's like ... and it's not fun... glad it's getting better

I do hope that you decide to go ahead and take this trip. I think you would have fun once you are down there.

Besides, you have to put Heidi's plan into action with the junky apple!

Also, as an aside, thank goodness I packed gingerbread in my lunch today because I totally needed to eat it after reading about the GF Gingerbread House again. ;)

Thank you so much guys.

I am feeling a bit better after talking to Mom. It involves possibly switching some plans, that would really make us feel better in the long run. I've got a more positive outlook about it right now.

Honestly, no joke, I need to channel my inner DH. My husband is so good at not internalizing things, and putting aside what needs to be put aside and enjoying himself. He's so much better at it than I am.

It's such a tough time of year. It always feels like Nov. to Dec. everyone wants a chunk of your time and energy. Your trip will probably feel like a wonderful break when you get there.

You know what the thing is?

I know I need the break. I need to learn how to put some things aside, go, and just have a good time. Enjoy what I enjoy and set aside the other carp, you know? Because I do need the break from work. I've re-learned how to not take it home with me and I know I don't complain about it as much on the Lapuette thread anymore, but that's not because it's better. It's only that I've tried to change my outlook. There's still the same petty, you know whatty women in the workplace stuff going on. It drives me up a you know what wall.

Words are running through my mind right now that are quite unbefitting a woman of my royal stature. ;)

I'm feeling the need for a break too. I kept thinking I was going to tag along with my mother and my her friend for a trip to West Palm beach in January to visit my grandmother.

I ended up getting theater tickets in NY with a friend for that weekend, so it will still be fun, just more affordable. I may try for a spring trip to visit my family. Sometimes you just need to get away from work.

TK

Go--without any second thoughts---for me!!! I want to live vicariously through your adventures and remember how great that place is at this time of year!!!

Also, just an FYI, that it was HOT last year when we were there---and it was pretty close to the same time as you are going. We were even SWEATING at times!!!! Enjoy the warmth---we came home to snow last year---what a shock!!!

That sounds nice! :goodvibes

Aww! :) That just made me smile.

Really? Huh! I'm just running on the idea that I'm going to need to pack lots of layers and be prepared for any eventuality.

Oooo...

My Pre-Ciiioooouussssssss......... :::said in scary Golam voice:::

It has arrived!

The Rascally Devil! :worship: :worship: :worship:

I have never been so excited about a bag in my entire life! I love it. I love everything about it. The pockets and compartments aplenty, the cute color, the design, the way it's ergonomically designed to fit my body.

:::sigh:::

It's like it was made for me. :cloud9:

There it is.

MY PRECIOUS! :lmao:

By the by, those are my new jeans. Hard to see, but aren't they a lovely dark wash?

Well, now I have to go. If for no other reason than to use the bag. ;)

I love it! What style did you say it was?

It's the VB Cargo Sling. It's a great design. If you want, I could take some more close ups. We're eating dinner soon, but it's got some great features. And it comes in lots of colors...certainly something that would match the Beach Club. :rolleyes1

I am always game for more photos -- especially of the inside. :goodvibes

What a lovely Rascally Devil!! It's super cute!! I actually went and tested out the cargo sling on the VB store this weekend when I went to see Twilight and I decided that it was still too big. Stay tune for LL's bag drama. The jeans look great too. Fab. U. Lous. :thumbsup2

Sorry I didn't get to that last night! I'll try to get some posted for you tonight, DH and I decided to watch a couple episodes of Chuck that we missed, and before you knew it, I was falling asleep on the couch! :lmao:

What a lovely Rascally Devil!! It's super cute!!

I love the color! I love the pattern! I love the cotton and that it's washable! I love that it leaves my hands free!

Oh, Rascally Devil, how I love thee...let me count the ways.

No joke, I don't remember the last time I was this excited about a bag. And I didn't pay retail!! :lmao:

Uh oh. Bag drama on the horizon! ;)

Why, thank you, my dear.

I'LL BE IN DISNEYWORLD!!!!

But before we get to this post, which I apologize if it's half-hearted, I just want to take a quick opportunity to talk about how grateful I am for my family. I'm lucky to have had my family in my life. We're all very close, and it's one of the reasons although I talk about moving, I never will. They may be crazy and dramatic and a pain sometimes, but they're also my family. This reminds me of a quote from a movie I adore, "My family is big and loud but they're my family. We fight and we laugh and yes, we roast lamb on a spit in the front yard. And where ever I go, what ever I do they will always be there."

We had something happen today that could have been much, much worse. But we're still not out of the woods yet. And so with that in mind, I'm trying not to take anything for granted. It's always been in the back of my mind that we don't have everyone forever, but at the same time, you never really expect anything to happen. In short, my grandfather had a heart attack last night. He's doing okay now, but is still in cardiac ICU, so not totally out of the woods. This is especially scary to me, because my other grandfather has passed, and he had a heart attack. There's a lot of praying going on right now, so please excuse me if this post isn't my normal witty repetoire.

I have a lot left to do for this trip. This morning, when I didn't know what had happened, I had a lot of fun, frivilous stuff on my mind.

Like the weather. So far the 10 day forecast indicates the tempature to be 75 while we're there. A low of 45 at night.

I'll take it. :lmao:

But it throws a kink into my packing. How do I dress during the day so I can easily transition to nighttime and be warm enough when the sun goes down? I'll let you know when I figure it all out. :thumbsup2

I need to make packing lists for myself and HRH. I need to go through the toiletries and make sure we have what we need. I need to figure out how I'm going to pack and all that jazz.

I need to make a list.

Did you hear that, LL? I'll be making a list. And most likely checking it twice. It is a Christmas trip after all. :santa:

I was sure there was more I wanted to say but I just can't think of it right now. Between what happened, and my being sick (some cold or something) my brain is just fried.

Hopefully, we'll resume semi-normal pre-trip report programming soon. :happytv:
