Good to know you made it safe & sound!!!! :welcome:
We were @ AMC iTheater in Downtown Disney from 9am til noon today watching the preview for Guardians of the Galaxy! left my 17 yr old son and his friend to hang out in the parks!

NOW GO AND HAVE A WONDERFUL STAY !!!:yay:

If it's the first day activating an AP then they will let you in even if it's a blackout day. At least that's what I understood from the CM I spoke to a few months ago.

Still, 6hrs freon Sac is AMAZING! I am in Davis and it took us almost 8hrs last time with 2 stops nd LA traffic.

You got there just as I was leaving for my 4 hour drive home :(, it was super busy today but still a beautiful day to be at DL!

I discovered the canoes this trip and added them to my list of favorite rides. Funny CM's + paddling a canoe + being on the water surrounded by trees and the sounds of Disney = Paradise!

Have fun.

Oh, so not necessarily pixie dust...but it felt like it as it caught me off guard and I had two anxious kids standing there...lol

We hit a little traffic in LA at 12:30/1ish but it wasn't as bad as I've experienced in the past!
And we were DETERMINED no traffic the rest of the trip and only stopped once for gas and potty!

We will have to give those a try on our DL day, thanks :)
We went to CA yesterday and yes crowds but we did stuff I knew wouldn't be difficult. Got soarin' FP, watched the streetcar show, ice cream and sat in Starbucks, road soarin', muppets, monsters, dd road TOT, right there and watched the Pixar parade, went to bugs land, did everything, walked to cars land, rode luigi's twice (my kids never laughed so hard), ate a NICE dinner at Flo's, on a real plate, no waiting, used AP discount (we were so impressed, happy and full and LOVED the music...I could have just sat in there and sang all day...hehe...we will be back), danced the street show but didn't stay for the light thing?!? Thought we'd try again another night :)
Easy peasy even with crowds and knocked out some things!! My 7yo doesn't remember anything since it's been 4 years so it's been fun watching him take it all in!

Don't take this the wrong way, but just curious what the plan was to arrive and try to hit a park on a day your AP wasn't valid for (as you weren't aware of the valid day of activation thing, which I wasn't aware of either)?

The reasoning behind this is because it's essentially the same as buying a one day ticket and then upgrading to an AP.

No worries...I was throwing this trip together at the last minute (just after the 50% off at Hojos came out via email). Initially I was planning to drive up Sat late in the day and then in the parks Sunday - Thursday (checked the blackout dates and was good to go) but then the rental car place said they had a car Friday night and that I meant I could leave super early sat and get to the park sat afternoon, which we did, however, in the excitement of it all I forgot to check sat as a possible blackout date (my bad). So I knew it was my fault but so very grateful it all worked out and we got to have a little extra magic :)
