Pixar Play Area in Contemporary - hopefully not in arcade!!

Switch to the beach club. Once you stay there you'll never look back :)

I looked at it but the arcade is what swayed us to contemporary... :headache:

Our second choice was Polynesian and I wish we had gone for it now!!

I see you said you had a reservation in about a month but I would keep checking until that day. Actually, see if you can get on the Waitlist for PV - they can clear that up to 7 days prior.. We are DVC members and our home resort is BLT at Contemporary so we are truly upset with this change. We've had Waitlists clear at the 7 day mark (we live in FL, 1 hr from WDW so go over often). It is worth a shot.

Poly = small pool and no arcade
BC = huge pool and slide + arcade

:)

OP rented points. No waitlist.

It does put a big wrench in our plans though bc I will be venturing off site with my youngest and her BFF and now will have to arrange alternatives for my boys. FYI they (10 & 8) are not into attending a daycare and I am not into paying $65/kid for them to do so either.

What was your plan? Were they going to have some arcade time with another adult while you went off with your daughter and her friend? Maybe they can rent a boat instead? Or, go play mini golf. Or, just pool time.

I hope you weren't implying you were going to just leave them at the arcade and take off....

As long as there is another adult, they will find something else to do.They can always take the bus over to Pop and AoA and check out those arcades. It's easy to do since MK is right there (just hop a bus to any resort).

They will be with their grandpa who is not completely confident going out and about to other resorts or attractions without me to advise him on where to go. Not alone!!

I can’t make changes from what I understand since I rented points. The family wanted to be near MK on monorail. I can possibly send my dad with my older kids on the monorail to get ice cream at Polynesian, if he feels comfortable with that.

I did send an email to state that this was a disappointment and causes changes to my plans.

Between this, no FP for Toy Story, Friendship boats down (which we planned as a break/ route to dinner some nights), and the room checks/guest disturbances, I definitely have buyers remorse for this trip. When we pay $$$$ counting on certain amenities and having to schedule everything several months in advance, it’s a huge letdown to have to actually get less than what we expected/planned.

Live and learn I guess... can’t count on much if anything!!

We are BLT owners so always stay there but do venture to BW and BC at times and have been to the arcades there. What other arcades do you recommend? Any help appreciated! Thanks.

I will ask DD13 (now) when she gets home from school.

Personally, CR was my favorite, followed by Wilderness Lodge. Pop has a good arcade. I thought the Grand Floridian's was anemic for the size of the resort. Poly ditched theirs for Trader Sam's, which we found out while looking for the arcade. (We are not horribly sad as we love Trader Sam's deck for water parade and fireworks viewing.)

Does anybody have a link to the new service? Looking for a babysitter for my son for one night while we're at Cali Grill and this sounds right up his alley.

Sure @KateMW, here is the link from the Disney Blog that provides an overview and includes the link to the phone number to reserve space. Guests can reserve their spot at Pixar Play Zone by calling 407-824-KIDS. Doors open at 5 PM for check-in.

Notes: Programming will run from 6-10:30 p.m. for a fee of $65 per child (plus tax). Children must be fully toilet-trained. Parents will be required to be physically present to check children in and out of the experience.
