Just announced on CNBC, Pixar is ending its relationship with Disney after their agreement runs out!

I guess they couldn't come to a $ agreement. They still have 2 more pictures to complete with Disney before they go off on their own. I think this is sad too. Seemed like a good combo.

Very sad...for Disney. I had the impression that Pixar has wanted out for a while though.

Pixar ends relationship with Disney.

Disney ends relationship with Eisner. That's how it should be.

Since Eisner just disbanded the feature animation division of Disney, what are they going to do now???

All live action movies????

I thought Eisner just disbanded the Florida animation studio.....if I'm not mistaken, the one in CA is still operational.

It was expected but I really think Disney is the loser, they are behind on computer generated animation. Pixar has had more hits than standard Disney animation, they just don't need the Disney backing anymore.

::yes:: I agree!! Pixar does not need Disney, Disney needs Pixar.

This is no suprise, I've been hearing these "rumers" for months.

Disney really need to capture that old "anamation magic" from the early days....... There new stuff is just "ho hum".....

Great, I just can't get enough animated features that are sequels of a movie that should have been allowed to stand alone!

Or maybe there's an attraction that hasn't had a live action movie based on it yet...

This is NOT good news. Can Disney raid the talent at Pixar?

Pixar is rated as one of the best places in the country to work, Disney is at a disadvantage for raiding any talent unless they are willing to shell out some major bucks.

That's not good for Disney at all!

So what will happen to all the Pixar related stuff in WDW? (For example, A Bug's Life in AK)

That's really ironic considering that the talent at Pixar WAS originally at Disney but Eisner cut them loose (or make it intolerable for them to work there).

Interesting to say the least....I wonder what the 300 pink slipped animators are chatting about these days...SADLY, Walt's vision is what continues to suffer most. I sure hope all gets back on track soon, and it's O.K.by me if Mr. Eisner is no longer at the helm.

Pixar is the new Disney. I think they're everything the Walt Disney Company use to be many years ago. They produce beautiful animated films and are just amazing storytellers. Their new film Route 66 looks really cute.
