Pity Party for me

Believe me, I know there are alot of people out there with worse problems than me but I got some bad news today and I wanna through myself a pity party..... okay?

I am a nursing student and I was suppose to start the clinical portion of my program this September but I just got a letter today stating that due to the overwhelming response to the nursing program and not enough spaces, I have been put on a waiting list . Hopefully I will still make it in but I may not be able to start now until next January. I know it doesn't sound like a very big deal but DH and I are extremely anxious to start a family and this maybe puts it on hold for another six months.

I'm so sorry. I hope your name gets pushed to the top of the list and you make it in!

I totally understand about wanting to start a family. 18 years ago, DH's company switched insurance and we had to wait an extra 3 months - it seemed like an eternity at the time!

I know how you fell too. My DW is also a nursing student and will soon graduate. The same thing happened to her. She just had to wait one extra quarter though.

You stick with it! Keep bugging them that help too. I guess one good thing out of this is you can still take an extra quarter of generals. That way it won't be so hard on you when you start your clinicals.

But on the happy side - it is wonderful that nursing programs are getting an "overwhelming" response. We need all you wonderful people, you are the foundation of our health care.

ACK! I know how you feel! I had to drop out of school last semester due to health problems. I was supposed to graduate in 2 months. Oh well, another year isn't so bad for me!
