Girl Scout Leader,
I loved your post (I picked up right away that it was tongue in cheek!).
I didn't discover this website until after my second cruise - AND I'M GLAD I DIDN'T. I didn't have any idea that I was supposed to obsess about where my room was in the ship (other than I did study the little diagrams in deciding what size room to put the 4 of us in). I didn't know I was supposed to research every minute of each shore excursion, I didn't know LAP APL blah blah, (how could I have been so stupid! (more tongue in cheek)).
My take on vacation is that my every day life is SO HECTIC - 2 kids in 2 schools in 2 counties, hubby and I working in different directions, volunteer work at schools and church, too many meetings, projects........I DON'T NEED THIS IN A VACATION!
We very naively just got on the ship. We've had beautiful rooms each time (second time was smaller because we had to rebook on short notice, but still wonderful), we've loved our dinner companions, met wonderful people, had fun at the pools, had neat excursions (even though hubby's first choice was sold out, he enjoyed the one he took). We got rained on and didn't even know we were supposed to get upset about it!
Maybe some people don't have enough other things to worry about? There are probably shelters they could help out at -- I bet the trivial complaints would dwindle.
