It is almost Thanksgiving as we don't have a DVC. Our goal was to have this purchase made by the end of the month. So here I am with the cash and the DH who keeps finding ways to "make sure" I am doing the right thing.

Just feeling bad about not doing a thing yet. Jerry at time share store has a perfect contract and I told him I would call back Tuesday morning. DH wanted to be here when we said yes, and by 5 pm the contract was gone.

So now we wait. No DVC, no plans, just going to walk away and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Maybe next week will bring us closer. I am sitting her with a certified funds check on my desk for $4200 for the depost. It is just sitting here.

Maybe that 42 inch plasma at walmart?????

Thats a pretty big deposit. :thumbsup2 What one were you looking at?
Sorry for the bad luck. :confused3

Don't worry. Something will come up. Not before Thanksgiving in all likelyhood. But maybe something even better than what got passed by! Just think how sweet it is going to be when you finally get to make the purchase. Makes for a great Holiday present for yourself! :cloud9:

Well I cant join you in the party but I can give you 1 word of advice,

DONT BUY A PLASMA AT WALMART!!!!! Buy somewhere that has a decent return policy. I am sitting here Plasma-less for T-Giving because I purchased at WM, waiting on the manufacturer for resolution)

Sorry, back to the party :wizard:

If you want a pity party, there are a lot of worse things than this! ;)

Seriously, here's wishing you luck. :thumbsup2 I know what you mean that once you get past the decision process you want to buy NOW!! Just keep telling yourself that it's for several more decades of vacations and a few days now won't hurt in the long run.

Hey, it's worth a try anyway! :)

I'm sorry that the contract was gone. :( Hopefully that means that a better one will come along soon for you. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that we can welcome you home very soon! :thumbsup2

Thanks friends! There are so many worse things in life than not getting our DVC right now. This I do know.

Thanks for the heads up on the plasma. DH just said to make sure it is a brand name or to go to another online site so we don't pay shipping or taxes.

I do have so many blessings that this too shall pass.

As for the big deposit. I had it laying around and wanted to make sure it was for the DVC.

Wishing everyone blessings this holiday. April

April-so sorry to hear you lost the contract you wanted. Like everyone says, a better one will come along. I don't know why, but it does seem to happen that way. Meanwhile, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Tom :sunny:

Turn that frown :sad2: upside down! :) You will get the perfect contract with a lil patience. And skip the plasma- who needs a fancy TV when you could go to WDW instead? TVs don't last.... DVC does. I hope.

I am doing just fine. I was remembering my blessings and what I am thankful for.

On Dec 8th, 2005, I got into our new minivan with my full length ranch mink coat. Went to put the seat belt on and said to my DH, seat belts are so bad for fur. DH says blood is even worse.

Less than 5 miles down the road, this is a two lane highway, I hit a full grown bull moose at 65 mph. It's head decapitates, comes thru the windshield and hits me in the head. Blessings, my DH and DS in the middle row don't have a scratch on them! New van, ruined, fur is covered in blood, ripped and ruined, I however did have my seatbelt on.

Of course I am now fired from my job since I can't speak or work. Then on Dec. 21st we see the words for the first time in black and white, our happy, loving DS has autism.

My friends, I am not saying my life is bad, but I am so thankful for my many blessings! I have learned to speak, type, walk, etc. So I am not the same, so what? So I forget that burgers are on the grill? There are worse things in life.

I am mad at God but I also know it is His grace that has saved my life and my family.

I wish nothing more than for you to reflect on the blessings of the year. So I am not home yet.

April

Oh, my, how frightening your accident must have been!

I hope your DS is doing well. I know some families who have autistic children and it is very difficult. Blessings to you and your family. :grouphug:

April,
Sorry to hear about the contract you wanted, but you're right, compared to everything else you have endured, it seems kind of insignificant. Another contract will come along and you’ll make the right decision for your family. As you said, you had to relearn speech, typing, etc. I’m sure such a resourceful woman will figure out how to herd her husband down the path she is looking to take. ;)

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I hope your little boy does well with the changes that accompany a holiday.
