Just wanted to let everyone know that on Friday 8/3 Giant Eagle announced limited time offer of .20 cents for every $50.00 spent on Giftcards instead of .10 cents off. I have been waiting to payoff my Sept trip hoping that they would come out with the .20 cents off for sometime now. I was doing the happy dance when I got the email yesterday afternoon. I purchased $1000 yesterday to put towards my Sept trip and going to buy another $1000 tomorrow to finish paying off trip and will use the rest for tips etc. That gives me $240.00 in free gas! Yippee!!!!

Just looked at the email again at it stated good thru 8/22.

Thanks for the heads up. I bought mine in June I think with the 20 cents off for our cruise... but could use a couple of smaller ones to pay for odds/ends.

I too was planning on purchasing Disney gift cards at our Giant Eagle, but how do you figure the $240 in free gas. I must be doing this wrong. I thought you get .20 per $50 spent, so 1,000.00 divided by $50 = 20 X .20 = $4 So you would get $4.00 off per gallon and after one fill up that resets.


I hope I am doing this wrong because I would really like to get the $240.00 in free gas. Please let me know how.

I have been waiting for double fuel perks so i stopped at our getgo today to get Disney gift cards and they told me they were not doing double fuel perks. Guess I'll head to our big giant eagle tomorrow to get cards to pay off our December trip.

Yes that is what I am doing. I made two purchases of $1000 each. I now have $8.00 of fuel perks on my giant eagle advantage card. When I go to get gas I will take along gas cans for the lawnmower, 4 wheelers etc so that I can get my full 30 gallons each trip to Getgo. Great saving. We mow approx 4 acres of property every week so I will have no problem using this up within the 60 day time frame.

And you can order cards online too with Free shipping. I ordered 1k this week. I like to think of it as a 12% pin code! Because every 100 you spend you really get for 88 bucks (assuming full price forfuel). AND to take it all a step further, I use chase rewards and when grocers are 5% you get another 5% in rewards. By the end ofeach year in time for thetrip I have about 800 in rewards to which I put towards an 800.;00 disneygift card. For my own version of free dining AND 12% off the room!!!
