We just got back and we all thought that the boat in POTC was closer to the big boat this time then on previous visits. Just wondered if that was possible?

OH and do not try to film or shoot pictures while in there. A guy in the front of our boat did filming with no extra light and all of a sudden a big booming voice came on and told him to shut it off. Scared my teen son because at the exact time he was looking at a pirate skull wondering about it and he said the voice sounded like it came from there! He jumped and said that was a new touch to the ride! We all thought it was funny that he jumped in such a non-scarey ride!

On most Disney attractions, you are being watched at almost any moment. And just because it's dark, doesn't mean they can't see you.

As for the boat going by closer to the pirate ships, if it were a change, they probably have to put the attraction into refurbishment for at least a little while to adjust the track, and I haven't heard of it being closed anytime recently.
