Dinner at The Wave
After some much needed rest we headed to the Contemporary for dinner at the Wave. We had really liked it last time and were eager to eat there again. We arrived right on time, were handed a buzzer and sat down in the waiting area. It only took about 5 minutes until we were led to our table. We both ordered our diet Cokes, no fancy drinks this time, we were just too tired after the flight the day before and the 6 hours time difference.
Right after our server had brought out the drinks and taken our main course order she brought out the bread and salted butter. The bread was slightly warm and very nice and was nibbled on until the main courses arrived.
Tom decided on trying the Braised Lamb Shank - with bulgur wheat- lentil stew and red wine sauce. First off - it was a HUGE portion and the meat fell off the bone, tasty and juicy! The bulgur wheat, which can be really bland, was very well seasoned and went so well with the sauce and meat.
I had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin - with oven- dried tomatoes, celery root mash, cabernet sauce and root vegetables. Just perfect is my verdict! The tenderloin (cooked medium) was melt in your mouth and the celery root mash was so delicious I would have happily had that and nothing else! Can't beat cabernet sauce and the root vegetables had still a slight bite! I was on

with my choice.
At home I had already decided to pick and mix my dessert plate until I found out there was a no sugar added option that really caught my eye! So I went for that.
No sugar added option - Chocolate Mint Mousse, Fresh Berries with Panna Cotta and Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee.
Fresh Berries with Panna Cotta - sorry for the bad photo! The Panna Cotta was heavenly light and the fresh fruit were FRESH and full of flavour!
Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee - second Creme Brulee of the day and it was another VERY good one. Lots of Vanilla flavour.
Chocolate Mint Mousse - reminded me a lot of the "Chocolate Temptation" from California Grill in presentation and taste. More of a chocolate taste than a mint taste. Very light and nice and not too sweet.
Tom had chosen the Crispy and Crunchy - Vanilla-braised Pineapple Spears, Almond-Pineapple-Raisin "Baklava", and Zucchini-Carrot Cake with Vanilla Panna Cotta
Zucchini-Carrot Cake with Vanilla Panna Cotta - my least favourite - it tasted a lot like gingerbread and I thought it was a bit on the heavy side.
Almond-Pineapple-Raisin "Baklava" - which had a bit of an "odd" taste, just like there was way too much cinnamon in it.
Vanilla-braised Pineapple Spears - These were disneyliscious! We both loved them.
Here is another photo of ALL of our desserts.
To go with our desserts Tom tried their Organic Colombian coffee, which was nice but nothing outstanding.
I had the Whole Leaf Silk Sachet Hot Tea, Lavender Earl Grey, which I LOVED last time and LOVED this time. One of the best teas I ever had!
We were stuffed and tired after dinner and it was only 8pm and the MK was PACKED, so we decided to leave the car where it was and go back to the resort by bus, rest a little and come back for EEMH from midnight until 3am!
Those two busrides convinced us that renting a car is right for us. The bus was packed and it took AGES to get from the MK to CBR. Once there we fell onto our beds, Tom set the alarm and we were off to dreamland. The alarm went off at 11pm and we were both SO tired, but still decided to go back to the MK to at least, bring the car back. Well, once we got INTO the MK we felt much better, the park had thinned out and by 1am was rather empty, so we stayed and were able to fit in ALL the rides, we wanted to do! We got back to the resort by 3.45am and needless to say we fell into our beds and did not have any trouble sleeping.
