My girls have spina bifida and can't stand but can do a wheelchair transfer in and out of the boats. The back rows have a wider opening so the chair fits in between the posts and they slide down onto the seat. Getting out they hop up on the side of the boat and then into their chairs.
When we go to the Pirates attraction, we inform the CMs of my difficulties getting in and out of the boat. They will take special care to give you enough time to get in and out of the boat. We have always been treated kindly at Pirates.

Unfortunately I'm dealing with a hip replacement which requires very specific angles of hip movement - or non movement. So, I'd either have to be in a wheel chair or in my ECV. I wish time were the answer. I knew there would be sacrifices this trip and it looks like Pirates and Peter pan may be the two most difficult to swallow. Though the new hip seems to be more then worth the frustration already.
