I loved The Curse of the Black Pearl and I can't wait for Dead Man's Chest, but apparently there's going to be a 3rd movie.

From the Internet Movie Database...

Dead Man's Chest began filming Feb 28 and should conclude in December for 2006 release.

Pirates of the Caribbean is listed as being in pre-production and is scheduled for a 2007 release.

Has anybody heard anything about this?

My understanding is they will begin shooting the 3rd film as soon as 2nd is finished.

Wow, very interesting!! I heard rumors about the part of Bootstrap being played by Keith Richards...or maybe that was Jack's dad?

Hope it is as good as the first...if not, I will have to change my license plates!! (they say BLAK PRL)

Keith Richards wanted to much money for the 10 lines or so he was going to say in the movie so they passed it over... they are filming both 2 and 3 at the same time but they have yet to release a name for the 3rd film... principal production for both films start this month....

My DS only knows about the 2nd movie and is driving me crazy asking when we can go see it. I don't want him to know anything about a 3rd one!! pirate:

Yes , It's true Johnny Depp did Sign for Part 2 & 3 . I beleive in part three the bad guy would be brad pitt vs johnny depp. It 's the story , when they were teen pirates (good friends) untill now, they both are looking for some kind of treasure that's linked to their past.

:cool1: I heard that they are filming both Part 2 and Part 3 at the same time. Probably because actors such as Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom are so busy filming other movies.

Not only the actors, but it's cost effective to do both movies at the same time. This way you can keep all the sets and everything and continue filming on them, rather than having the soundstages used for something else and then rebuilding them again. I guess they are pretty sure that 2 will fly, to do 3 as well. I look forward to seeing 2, Black Pearl was a great movie, but I have to wonder whether it will have the same reference as the first one did, coordinating with the ride.

The Black Pearl for the 2nd and 3rd movies is being built about 20 miles south of where I live, and I took my kids to see it this morning. The shipbuilders and Disney people are putting the finishing touches on it this week and it's sailing for the caribbean on Saturday. I took a couple of pictures of it, and there has been a lot of local news coverage, too. Anyone interested in the story can go to al.com and do a search. No pics online, but some neat stories. It went out for the first time yesterday for a test run. pirate:

Angelina - how fun for you to be able to see it and take your kids!! I'm excited for the sequels...LOVE the first one! IMHO they won't follow the ride, I think that was used up in the first one. Of course that could just be my lack of imagination! :)

Angelina - Thanks for giving us the web address on the Black Pearl. It would have been really exciting to have seen it in person. I can't wait until the movie comes out! pirate:

Just the mention of Orlando Bloom makes me swoon :faint: ........Maybe that's why I love travelling to Orlando so much .......... my two favourite things!
